TMZ first broke the news of Jeff’s tragic passing on Wednesday after receiving confirmation from the late star’s family.

The outlet reported that the TV star died on Tuesday night at a Southern California hospital with friends and family at his bedside.

They also revealed that Jeff had been suffering from various health issues for months, including a brain aneurysm in the spring after hitting his head as a result of a fall.

Although he recovered, Jeff experienced a stroke a few weeks back and did not receive treatment, according to sources.

A cause of death has not been revealed.

TMZ previously reported that Jeff was hospitalized in November with pneumonia and recovered, but his health had since declined.

He was admitted to the hospital on Monday after having difficulty breathing, and he suffered a collapsed lung on Tuesday.

Jeff’s son, Jojo Garcia, shared a heartwarming tribute to the actor on Instagram, calling his father his “best friend.”

“With a very heavy heart, I would like to inform everybody that my father, Jeff Garcia, has passed away,” Jojo’s post began, alongside photos of the father-son duo over the years.

“My father was a unique soul. He was unapologetically himself and I will always admire the love, compassion, and drive that he had. He taught me so much and gave me advice that I live by every single day.

“He was a Father, Son, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, but most of all, he was my best friend.”

Jeff’s son further highlighted the TV personality’s impact on those around him, and through his work on and off-screen.

“Please give me and my family the time and privacy we need during this difficult time. I appreciate the kind words and wishes,” Jojo added in the comments.

Fans followed by offering their condolences to the family, and fellow comedians shared their memories of the Nickelodeon star.

“I remember doing mics every week with Jeff when I was starting comedy in LA. Such a good dude,” podcast host Josh Wolf commented.

“Your dad was one of the first to believe in me and was instrumental in my development as a comedian early on,” added stand-up comic Eric Schwartz.

“He generously gave me and many other comedians a lot of opportunities to shine. I’ll never forget all the good times. I wish you and your family all my love.”

Jeff’s last public sighting was on November 4, when he appeared in an episode of Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen.

The California native famously voiced Sheen Estevez in Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and the spin-off series, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, and Planet Sheen.

He also lent his voice to Pip the Mouse in Barnyard and its spin-off, Back at the Barnyard, as well as in various other children’s programs.
