Jimmy Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, was spotted stepping out in Los Angeles on Sunday as the late-night host continues to reel from his dramatic suspension by ABC.
Over the weekend, the 47-year-old, who served as co-head writer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for more than a decade, looked somber as she walked with her eight-year-old son, Billy, and their dog.
For her laid-backing out, she wore a light blue Howard Stern hoodie, black leggings, oversized sunglasses and sneakers.
Her sighting came just one day before Stern himself broke his silence on Kimmel getting pulled from the air.
‘I feel obligated to say something, because s**t’s getting outta control,’ Stern said on his SiriusXM show Monday morning. ‘This involves the network ABC. They did something really dumb and f**kin’ horrible.’
While speaking about his longtime friend, the radio icon continued: ‘Everyone knows what happened with Jimmy Kimmel… the bottom line is you really don’t need my voice to know that something horrible happened at ABC.’

The shock jock also rushed to defend both Kimmel and McNearney, telling listeners: ‘Jimmy is such a big talent, and quite frankly so is his wife. They’re two of the funniest people I have ever met.’
Stern went on to suggest this all feels like a ‘smokescreen to stop talking about what’s really going on’ with ‘inflation, gas prices, [and] groceries.’
Neither McNearney or Kimmel have publicly commented about his abrupt suspension, which has sent shockwaves through Hollywood and triggered fierce debate online.
Over the years, McNearney has not held back from calling out President Donald Trump in jokes and on her social media.
This includes taunting Trump, 79, over his 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and pointing out how ‘one in three women in this country’ are currently living under an abortion ban because he ‘stacked our Supreme Court.’
In 2022, the Missouri-born mom tweeted her anti-gun views: ‘Today I #WearOrange because taking our kids to school shouldn’t be a life or death decision. Ban assault weapons. Pass universal background checks. And vote out anyone too cowardly to put kids before guns.’
Jimmy originally hired Molly as a writer’s assistant in 2004 but they didn’t begin dating until 2010 – the year after he ended his five-year relationship with fellow comedian Sarah Silverman.
‘I like to keep it separate, and I’m very good at compartmentalizing work,’ McNearney told Glamour in 2014.

‘At home, it’s a different relationship. At 10am he’s my boss, not my husband; he does say he’s my ‘husboss,’ but I refuse to call him that.’
While recalling her first impression of him, McNearney admits their first exchange was pretty awkward.
‘When I first met him, he insulted me! The executive producer brought me into his office and said, ‘This is Molly; she’s my new assistant.’ Jimmy barely looked up from his desk until my EP said, ‘She competes in triathlons,’ and then Jimmy looked up at me and said, ‘That is really stupid! What a waste of time.” she recalled. ‘That was the first and only thing he probably said to me the entire first year of working there.’
As for whether she predicted their professional relationship would eventually turn romantic, the mother-of-two said ‘it never occurred’ as they were both in relationships and it’s ‘workplace 101’ not to date your boss.

The married couple of 12 years are proud parents of 11-year-old daughter Jane and eight-year-old son Billy, whose open heart surgery due to a rare congenital heart defect made national headlines in 2017.
McNearney is also stepmother to Kimmel’s two adult children – daughter Katie, 34; and son Kevin, nearly 32 – from his 14-year marriage to ex-wife Gina Maddy, which ended in 2003.
Her other gigs include writing material for The Oscars in 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024 as well as writing on Freeform’s dinner party series Chrissy & Dave Dine Out in 2024.
Her husband was reportedly blindsided by ABC’s decision to indefinitely pull his program over his remarks about Charlie Kirk’s assassination last week.
‘We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,’ Jimmy said in one of his monologues.

Trump rejoiced on Truth Social Wednesday: ‘Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has zero talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on fake news NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!’
‘And doing everything they can to score political points from it.’
It’s unclear if ABC will be firing Kimmel from his other hosting gig on the rebooted game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
It’s an ominous warning to all politically-outspoken presenters – particularly The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon and Late Night’s Seth Meyers – following CBS’ cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in July.
