The singer, 41, - who married her partner Sam Burrows in 2014 - opened up about a recent shift in her life now that her three children are older and at school.

She explained how the pair now have more quality time together and that she can focus on her own 'wants and needs' again.

The star told The Times of her kids getting older: 'You're no longer up in the night. You're not doing nappies. They are more independent and so maybe your relationship with your partner transitions from saying, 'Are you doing that feed?'

'It is that reclaiming of your sexual identity, needs, wants. Also, you start to understand how you view your body again, which has been a vessel and a tool.

'It's a really interesting time, your forties, because you are near midlife. You are nearing a time when you think about dying, but this is a sweet spot, where you want to cram in as much fun as possible. It's a frenzied time.'

She also opened up about how other mums at the school gates reacted to her recent music video with actor James.

The singer released the BDSM-style video for her new single Ride last month which features James as her 'sexy cowboy' lover.

The steamy video boasts a slew of provocative scenes of Jessie dominating a submissive James, 40, with both clad in typical cowboy get-ups.

There are numerous nods to the BDSM world of Fifty Shades of Grey, with the songstress seen putting her fingers in the Grantchester star's mouth and blindfolding him with a length of rope.

She has now told the publication that people at the school gates have said 'thank you' to her for the video as it has 'brought up conversations'.

The disco-esque track samples the iconic theme from the 1966 film, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, composed by Ennio Morricone.

Previously revealing how she bagged the House of Guinness star for the role of sexy cowboy, Jessie explained she'd proposed the idea to him while at a mutual friend's show together.
