Jessica Simpson Wants ‘Dress Pulled Off’ on Hot Date After Divorce

Jessica Simpson has said her ideal date night outfit would involve a ‘leopard-print dress.’

The 45-year-old singer and fashionista – who launched her own fashion brand the Jessica Simpson Collection two decades ago – has opened up on her own style and which items she’d pull from her anniversary range for a romantic evening.

‘Well, hopefully things will be pulled off. Just kidding!’ she told People this week.

‘A leopard-print dress, definitely heels, the Aaminas [strappy platform sandals]. I just called to get them in red.’

When it comes to leopard print, Jessica joked it feels like her own version of ‘beige’ which was inspired by her grandmother. 

She said: ‘To me, leopard is neutral. It’s my beige. ‘My nana, my mom’s mom, always had some form of leopard, a scarf or tortoise jewelry. I just loved it.

‘There’s even a Jessica Simpson suitcase in leopard. And I even have furniture that’s leopard.’

Jessica revealed in July that she was ready to start dating again.

The singer was asked by Today show co-host Jenna Bush-Hager: ‘Are you interested in dating? Can I set you up with anybody?’

Jessica replied: ‘I’d totally jump on that. Yes I’m single – very into like, very … I’m ready!’

Jenna subsequently questioned: ‘What are you into so I can set my criteria?’

And Jessica then explained: ‘My type of person is one of a kind. I don’t have a look, or anything.

‘I just like for somebody to be individually, who they are. And exude confidence without the ego.

‘It’s hard to find but I feel like it’s out there. I don’t need somebody to be supportive of me all the time.

‘I feel like the independence that I have right now, if I can have that and give it to someone else, that’d be cool.’

Jessica announced her split from Eric in January after 10 years of marriage.

The pop star wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage.

‘Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.’

The pair share three children: daughter Maxwell, son Ace, and daughter Birdie. 

The Take My Breath Away hitmaker — who’s had a number of high-profile romances — and the retired tight end tied said ‘I do’ back in 2014, after four years of dating. 

The star was last pictured wearing her wedding ring in 2023.

Jessica raised eyebrows by failing to give Eric a birthday shout-out on his 45th birthday on September 10, further igniting rumors of a marital rift.

Simpson previously explained how the children she shares with husband Eric Johnson inspired her to return to performing.

‘I’m doing this as a mother now, as a wife. I was a wife last time, but this is a very different marriage,’ she told Bustle in July 2023. 

The Dukes of Hazzard actress noted that her kids have ‘never seen’ her perform live, explaining Maxwell saw her first concert with Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West.

‘I have my daughter taking a private plane with North West to go see Katy Perry in Vegas,’ said Simpson. ‘And inside I’m like: ‘She was supposed to see me first.’

‘Then I’m like: ‘This is not competitive, Jessica. Let your daughter enjoy Katy Perry.’ But there’s moments that make me want to do it – for them to see that color of me,’ she added.
