Jessica Simpson has officially started house hunting in Los Angeles – one month after confirming to People that she and second husband Eric Johnson were in fact ending their 10-year marriage.
‘She’s figuring out where she will begin her new chapter with the kids,’ a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday.
‘There hasn’t been a lot of movement toward a divorce because they are still in the separation stage.’
Shortly before the split announcement, the 44-year-old Jessica Simpson Collection CEO put her $11.5M seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom Hidden Hills mansion on the real estate market for $17.9M after spending 12 years at the 13,274-square-foot property formerly owned by The Osbournes.
Jessica is ‘trying her best to keep things as amicable as possible with’ the 45-year-old retired NFL tight end and their three children – daughter Maxwell, 12; daughter Birdie, turning 6 next month; and son Ace, 11.
Simpson – who ditched her wedding ring 13 months ago – hadn’t been publicly pictured with Eric since they attended their youngest daughter Birdie’s kindergarten graduation in Los Angeles on June 7.

The former pop star hasn’t posted a picture of Johnson on social media since April 9 during the family’s Easter festivities.
The stay-at-home dad was still technically married to former pole-dancing instructor Keri D’Angelo when he originally met Jessica through a mutual friend at her May 2010 house party, and he finalized his divorce just five months later.
On Tuesday night, Simpson – who boasts 15.1M social media followers – shared a b&w snap of herself eating a Sonic corndog captioned: ‘Boy howdy…do I have a snack for y’all tomorrow!’
The platinum-blonde Texan tagged singer-songwriter JD McPherson, engineer-producer Bart Schoudel, and producer-A&R exec Teresa LaBarbera – who actually discovered her in 1997 and signed her to Columbia Records.
‘Her [new] album is coming very soon,’ a second source told Us Weekly.
‘She’s anxious and excited to release it to the world.’
Jessica has been hyping her music industry comeback since April, and she still manages to get 605K monthly listeners on Spotify despite her last single being a cover of Nothing but Thieves’ Particles in 2021.
Simpson first found fame with her three-octave soprano pipes until starring in MTV’s reality show Newlyweds (2003-2005) with ex-husband Nick Lachey.
It’s unclear when Amazon Prime Video subscribers will get to stream the Walmart collaborator’s unscripted docuseries with music, which was part of the partnership deal she signed with the streaming giant in 2020.
Jessica – who celebrated seven years of sobriety on November 1 – bought back her 20-year-old clothing company in 2021 for $65M from licensing company Sequential Brands Group Inc. following a three-year battle.
