's ex-girlfriend Jenny McCarthy weighed in on the wild clone and impersonation rumors following his 'unrecognizable' appearance at the 51st César Awards in Paris on February 26.

As the 64-year-old movie star took the stage at the Olympia to receive his Honorary César, his face looked noticeably different than it had just three months earlier at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Carrey's higher brow and puffy, over-filled complexion muted the rubber-faced expressions, which made him famous in the nineties.

'It was definitely Jim Carrey,' the 53-year-old panelist told People on Tuesday.

'He looked very happy at that award show. And I was happy for him. That's the first thing I noticed. I said, "Oh wow, Jim looks really happy!" You know, that's the part that, sadly, people miss.'

McCarthy continued: 'We're so obsessed with how he looks that we didn't consider how happy he looked.'

Indeed, the Canadian comedian called his girlfriend Min Ah his 'sublime companion' while delivering his acceptance speech in French.

Gregory Caulier, the general delegate of the César Awards, called the viral conspiracy theories a 'non-issue' and confirmed Carrey 'worked on his speech in French for months, asking me about the exact pronunciation of certain words.'

'He came with his partner, his daughter, his grandson and 12 close friends and family members,' Caulier confirmed to Variety on March 2.

Carrey originally began dating McCarthy in 2005 - the same year she divorced her husband of six years - filmmaker John Asher - after their now 23-year-old son Evan Asher was diagnosed with autism (pictured in 2007)

The two-time Golden Globe winner and the former Playboy Playmate's nearly five-year romance amicably ended in 2010, the year after they appeared on Larry King Live and claimed autism was 'preventable and treatable' but the 'vaccine program is imbalanced'

The Paramount Pictures flick will also feature Ben Kingsley, Nick Offerman, Ben Schwartz, Kristen Bell, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Matt Berry, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub and Richard Ayoade.

Director Jeff Fowler's live-action/CGI hybrid film trilogy has amassed a combined $1.2 billion at the global box office.

Last October, The Wrap reported that Carrey was 'in talks to lead' a live-action Jetsons movie for Paramount Pictures, which was rumored to be written and directed by Jurassic World Dominion's Colin Trevorrow.

On the personal front, the avid painter is father to daughter Jane Erin Carrey and grandfather to her 16-year-old son Jackson (with ex-husband Alex Santana).

Carrey fathered the 38-year-old singer during his eight-year marriage to former Comedy Store waitress Melissa Womer, whom he divorced in 1995.
