Jenny McCarthy, 53, reveals bedroom ‘challenges’ with husband Donnie Wahlberg, 56

Jenny McCarthy and husband Donnie Wahlberg celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary in August.

But this week the 53-year-old actress revealed an issue she and the actor, 56, struggle with in the bedroom. 

‘There are challenges,’ she told morning show co-hosts and husband-wife duo Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on their talk show on Wednesday.

‘To be blunt, snoring,’ the blonde bombshell confessed, prompting laughter from the live audience. 

‘He took up snoring right when I was starting perimenopause,’ she said before sharing the solution she came up with. Per MayoClinic, perimenopause ‘is the time before menopause when your body is getting ready to stop having periods.’ It can cause sleep problems including hot flashes or night sweats.

‘I built in these insulations that I think really help me get through the night now, which is I sleep with these giant headphones on every night. 

‘And then I built a “Great Wall of China.” Donnie calls it the Great Wall of China,’ she added, referring to a partition of pillows. ‘So now that is like a soundproof room.’

The media personality added that if she still hears her husband snoring, she’ll ‘give him a big tap and then he has to roll the other way.’

Elsewhere in the interview McCarthy gushed about how great her husband is.

‘He is the nicest human being you’ll ever meet. People know that,’ she said. 

‘He treats me like a queen, communicates, loves me. He is absolutely what you would call textbook… truly perfect.’

It comes one year after the former Playboy model opened up about the secret to the couple’s long-lasting marriage.

For Us Weekly‘s ‘real relationship’ issue, she spilled the racy thing they like to do at parties. 

‘We like to sneak off at parties,’ she revealed. ‘If someone has a Christmas party, we’re going to find the basement bathroom, take advantage of the moment.’

The lovebirds also admitted to hooking up at weddings and in their car to ‘keep it fun and spicy.’

Wahlberg recalled a funny moment when a well-known actor spotted them in a public display of affection at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmys.

‘We hear this voice say, “Get a room.” I was like, “That sounded like the voice of God.” It was Morgan Freeman. He walked by and winked at us.’

The Boston-bred entertainer added, ‘We work at keeping it hot. Of course we love each other and we’re attracted to each other, but we also give it care.’

He explained at the time, ‘That’s how you keep [the spark] alive. We don’t take for granted that it’s been 10 years and we don’t have to do that stuff anymore. Keep doing it.’

The star also emphasized, ‘If we’re not taking care of ourselves as individuals, we can’t treat the marriage with the respect and commitment that it deserves.’
