Jennifer Aniston’s personal trainer spills the secrets to how the star maintains a size 2 figure at age 56

Jennifer Aniston’s personal trainer Dani Coleman has shared the secrets to how the actress has maintained her incredibly fit figure over the decades.

The trainer told The Daily Mail that the 56-year-old Friends actress has a great attitude as she often cracks jokes during their sweat sessions where they blast pop music.

‘No matter how much time or where Jen’s schedule takes her, she always values moving her body,’ Coleman told The Daily Mail. ‘She understands that doing something each day, even if it’s small, is better than nothing, which is why she loves PVOLVE because we have workouts of all lengths and formats.’

And Aniston – whom Coleman has called a ‘super woman’ – puts in the time to do ‘full body’ workouts so she won’t leave out any muscle groups.

When asked if there was something that fans would not know about the blonde beauty, Coleman answered, ‘She loves a challenging workout. The only things that outshine her work ethic in our workouts are her humor and humility.’

Coleman – the founder of the workout system PVOLVE and VP of Training at PVOLVE, a company Aniston reps – also said that surprisingly there are some days when the Morning Show actress is just not into hitting the gym.

That is why Coleman has launched a new campaign for the start of 2026 called Worth It Everytime, because she feels that even if you are not up for exercising, by the end of the session you will be glad you did it.

Aniston and Coleman have been workout buddies since around 2020.

‘We have been working together weekly for almost five years, and we continue to have fun and unlock new levels of strength together,’ said Coleman.

‘I first met Jen through a mutual connection, who introduced her to PVOLVE. She started streaming the workouts and wanted to try a personal training session at home.’

Her first impression of Jen was positive: ‘She’s magic! Hard-working, gracious, and obviously hilarious.’ And she loved that Aniston had her dogs – Clyde and Lord Chesterfield – by her side as she stretches.

Coleman added that Aniston impressed her right off the bat.

‘I’ll never forget our first session – we did a full-body workout using our p.band, p.ball, and gliders. At PVOLVE, no two workouts are ever the same, and I love programming her workouts, providing the playlist, and finding new ways to challenge her.’

And they have a game plan.

‘Jen and I train utilizing our Signature formats: Strength & Sculpt, Sculpt & Burn, and Progressive Weight Training,’ said the trainer.

‘We do full-body workouts and love to frequent our p.band, p.3 trainer, p.ball, and gliders, and we mix in heavy dumbbells with a focus on building lean muscle mass. Our sessions are filled with hard work, a good playlist, and a few intermissions to play with the pups!’

And Coleman loves this campaign because she feels it is relatable: ‘It highlights the real mindset moments that actually get us into — and through — a workout: the hesitation, the negotiation, the self-doubt, and ultimately the small internal win that gets us moving.’

Coleman admitted that sometimes it is hard for her and Aniston to get to the gym.

‘That’s actually part of what makes the campaign so relatable. The mental back-and-forth before a workout is typical and relatable to so many of us, and PVOLVE is designed to make showing up feel achievable and supportive rather than punishing.’

Anchored in a new film featuring Aniston, Worth It Everytime shows the relatable back-and-forth she has with herself before a workout.

Coleman told Daily Mail: ‘The new campaign, Worth It Everytime, was so much fun to film. The whole video highlights how PVOLVE is not just about the physical workout but about building long-term strength and consistency, both mentally and physically.

‘It really captures the mental back-and-forth that happens before a workout – the negotiation and the moment you decide to show up for yourself. Filming it definitely reinforced how rewarding it is to move in a way that supports your body, your mindset, and your health overall.’

She also explained why she came up with the theme of mindfulness. ‘The theme of mindfulness came from recognizing that the biggest part of any workout actually happens before you start. We wanted to highlight that mental side of movement because it’s just as important as the physical part.

‘Partnering with Headspace allows us to give people tools to navigate that moment with intention, making every workout not just a physical practice but a mindful one that supports long-term strength and consistency.’

The campaign also covers A New Year’s Mindset Challenge: A 4-week, consistency-first challenge built around short, approachable, 30–35 minute classes – designed to make showing up feel easier, not harder.

In October Aniston, who dates Jim Curtis, said she has found a ‘smart’ way to build muscle, which is with the Pvolve system she uses daily in her home gym in Bel Air, California.

‘Strength isn’t just fitness – it’s the ultimate anti-aging secret. And Jennifer Aniston is doubling down,’ the press release shared in October.

‘With Pvolve, she’s discovered a smart, safe, and powerful way to build muscle, increase load, and support longevity. Now, she’s taking her own evolution in fitness to the next level with the The Longevity Bundle.’

Pvolve’s Longevity Bundle is designed to help women boost metabolism, protect bone density, and fight the effects of aging – all while building lean, functional strength.

The bundle includes Jennifer’s favorite Pvolve equipment, featuring the brand-new Body Band, a versatile tool that adds resistance without heavy weights. Use it to target every muscle group for incredible results without the strain of dumbbells or barbells.

To celebrate, Pvolve is launching the Fall Strength Challenge (Oct 29–Nov 12). For every challenge completed, $1 will be donated to Women in Medicine, supporting groundbreaking research in women’s health.

This comes after size two Aniston shared what she eats on her cheat days.

The ex-wife of Brad Pitt told People there are many ‘comfort foods’ in her new book Cooking With Clydeo, which was released on September 9, that she whips up when she has a hankering for something naughty.

Aniston will have ‘pizza nights, burgers or Mexican food,’ she told the outlet.

But the red carpet regular also likes to dine out. ‘I’ll go to my favorite restaurant with some girlfriends, have a martini, and some delicious meal.’

Some of her favorite Los Angeles restaurants are the Japanese eatery Nobu in Malibu and the Mexican joint Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks.

She also told the site what her favorite item in the new book is: Aniston’s ‘personal favorite’ dish is a savory snack called Enchilada Bites.

‘It’s guilt-free, because they’re just little bites. You can stretch it into two bites, but definitely, definitely yummy, yummy, yummy,’ she said of the cheesy recipe.

Cook with Clydeo includes 35 recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, most of which come from the perspective of a dog named Clydeo. Next she will come out with Clydeo Versus Peanut Butter later this year and Clydeo Makes a Friend in winter 2026.

Aniston has talked before about her diet. In 2024, Jennifer said she loves a ‘cheat day’ and will sip on a dirty martini cocktail when the mood takes her.

The star is committed to a healthy and holistic lifestyle and follows a high-protein, low-carb and low-sugar diet. Aniston will reward herself with cheat days when she wants to enjoy her favorite foods and drinks.

Her alcoholic tipple of choice is the martini mix, which is made with gin and vermouth and garnished with an olive or a lemon twist.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: ‘Jen’s meals are rich in protein with a healthy amount of carbs, and she also indulges in treats and cheat days. If she wants to enjoy a dirty martini or tequila, she’ll splurge. It’s no big deal.’

When it comes to relaxing, the star practices meditation and makes sure she gets plenty of fresh air with her pet dogs. The source added: ‘She meditates, and loves hikes with her dogs.’

Jen is said to not be worried about ageing and has no interest in cosmetic procedures and instead wants to focus on being ‘healthy and happy’ as she continues to grow as a woman.

The insider spilled: ‘Jen feels fine about getting older. For her, it’s about being healthy and happy as she can be.’

Aniston has been able to maintain her incredible shape even as she has settled into her 50s.

In April 2022, the actress shared with First For Women magazine how she is able to look so youthful even as she works full time on her acting career and heads up companies like LolaVie Haircare.

The 5ft5in cover girl admitted that she keeps her diet in check by starting her day off with warm lemon water and she also takes climbing classes on her stair climber. But the best part of her day is the time she sets aside to meditate, she said.

In the section titled Curbs Cravings: Breakfast With A Twist, the blonde beauty said: ‘During quarantine I loved cooking.’

The Cake actress added: ‘When I wake up I have warm lemon water, then a shake or avocado and eggs. I found ways to make eggs every which way.’

The ex-wife of Justin Theroux then shared: ‘But I also do oatmeal with an egg white whipped in. Do it right before the oatmeal is finished cooking – it gives extra protein and this fluffy texture that’s delicious.’
