Jen Shah is back on social media after fraudster RHOSLC star is released from prison early

Jen Shah made her post-prison social media debut after the Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City fraudster was released early days ago.

The 52-year-old television personality made her first appearance on TikTok since being released on December 10 as she even poked fun at her time in prison.

The clip was not posted on any of her personal social media accounts but was posted by ‘Shah Squad’ member Murilo Bueno who made appearances during her time on RHOSLC.

The two sat down as they lip-synced to a humorous clip about sitting down and minding your own business seemingly referencing an uncomfortable conversation with a fellow inmate during her 33 months incarcerated in Texas.

It was captioned: ‘POV: Jen Shah is telling me a prison bed time story.’

Shah has not been active on any social media accounts since her prison release, but her being featured in Bueno’s video may be a sign that she is ready to return to the public eye.

The former reality star was freed from the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, in the early hours of December 10.

She served a total of 33 months behind bars for her role in a long-running nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme.

Shah starred on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for three seasons until going to prison for her role in the scheme.

She was originally sentenced to 78 months in 2023, but her sentence was repeatedly slashed for good behavior.

The reality star’s manager, Chris Giovanni, said Shah had achieved ‘real growth’ while incarcerated and is aware of the gravity of her ‘mistakes.’

Shah will serve the remainder of her sentence at home. On Wednesday, she also attended an orientation program at a halfway house, before returning home to her family.

She was picked up from prison by her husband Sharrieff Shah, and their two sons, Sharrieff Jr, 31, and Omar, 22.

Shah’s attorney, Candace N. Robinson told People that today is ‘the beginning of a new chapter’ for the reality star.

Meanwhile her manager added that she ‘remains thankful for the love and prayers from her supporters’ and is focused on ‘this new journey of redemption to make everything right.’

Shah began her 78-month sentence in February 2023 after pleading guilty to wire fraud charges tied to the multimillion-dollar scheme, which duped thousands of victims, many of them seniors.

She was also ordered to pay more than $6.5 million in restitution.

Her arrest in March 2021 was famously captured on Bravo cameras during season two of RHOSLC, cementing her place in Housewives history.

Shah initially proclaimed her innocence, even doubling down during reunion specials, but ultimately changed her plea to guilty in July 2022—months after her former assistant and co-conspirator, Stuart Smith, admitted his role.

The BOP reduced her sentence on account of her good behavior, involvement in prison programming, and the payments she had begun sending victims after she was ordered to pay $6.5M in restitution, according to People.

Originally set for release in 2029, her date was bumped up to August 2028, then to December 2027, and again to November 3, 2026.

Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas is a low security prison is home to a number of celebrity jailbirds, including Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell and disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

In an unusual twist of fate, Shah bonded with fellow inmate Holmes, who is serving an 11-year sentence for fraud.

On multiple occasions, the pair were spotted working out together in the prison yard.

Late last year in December, Shah gave her fans an update as she served her sentence.

Her team shared a message to her website called Dear Jen Shah to share that she was ‘doing very well’ and was also focused on working on her ‘personal self.’

It was also added that Shah was ‘focused on her journey towards positive rehabilitation’ and had the chance to hold a conversation with co-star Meredith Marks on the phone.

‘Jen has indeed spoken with Meredith Marks [co-star], and the conversation was extremely positive. She loves Meredith and appreciates her friendship and support during this time.’

Shah’s husband, Sharrieff, stood by her throughout her prison sentence.
