‘I don’t talk about this publicly at all,’ Jelly Roll began. ‘But one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife.’
The singer continued, ‘Because it was the first time that I was like, “I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.” It just really, really, really blew me back.’
He explained that he ‘did a lot of work to repair’ his relationship with his wife and added that the ‘repair has been special.’

‘We are stronger than we could have ever been,’ Jelly Roll told the podcast host. ‘I wish our story would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair.
‘I am in no way glad it happened. But man, I am proud of who we are today. You know what I mean? I truly am.’
The performer also reflected on surrounding himself with ‘a bunch of people that were cheating on their wives’ at the time of his own infidelity.
‘When I was doing cocaine, I was hanging around a bunch of people that were doing cocaine. When I was drinking a lot, I was hanging around people who were drinking a lot.’
The star added, ‘I used to be proud of long-standing friendships just because they had a number attached to them. Horrible humans.
‘But I would just be proud to say, “That dude’s been with me 12 years.” S****y human.’
However, the country singer explained that by then, he wanted to surround himself with friends that helped him to be a better person.
‘I wanted to be friends with people I wanted to be like,’ Jelly Roll expressed.

While details of the singer’s affair is not known, both he and Bunnie briefly separated back in 2018.
She referenced to the split in a TikTok video uploaded last year that showed the pair posing for sweet photos.
The media personality added text over the short reel which read: ‘Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back – would have put us on this wild journey called life.
‘We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016.’
Bunnie concluded with, ‘Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground. I yuh you so mushhh.’
Back in 2023, the couple exchanged vows once again in Las Vegas at the same chapel they initially said ‘I do’ in 2016.
The pair first crossed paths in 2015 and became friends due to Bunnie being in a relationship at the time. However, following her breakup – she and Jelly Roll sparked up a romance.
While talking to Fox News Digital last year, the performer – whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord – opened up about what keeps their marriage strong.

‘Open, real, honest communication. We talk about the uncomfortable stuff up front. It’s a real important thing in our marriage,’ the star said.
‘And also, we don’t take nothing too serious. Have a short memory. Laugh as much as you can. Laughter is the best medicine.’
Last year in June, Bunnie announced that they were undergoing IVF as she shared a clip of her husband on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, where he talked about their plans to grow their family.
‘We had planned on doing this privately, but decided our ivf journey needed to be shared because we’ve always been so open,’ she wrote.
‘And w/ all odds stacked against us, it’s already been hard & we have only just begun.’
