Jeff Brazier has revealed the touching reason why he signed up to Celebrity Race Across The World.
The TV presenter, 45, has heart-warmingly said he wants to spend as much time with his son Freddie while he still can, prompting the pair to join the show together.
He shares sons Bobby, 21, and Freddie, 19, with late Big Brother legend Jade Goody – who died in 2009 at the age of 27 following a battle with cervical cancer.
Jeff told The Daily Star newspaper’s HOTTV column: ‘I wanted to take part because the travel element is an absolute privilege, but also to share it with my son and to be able to make those memories.
‘He’s not a child anymore, he’s a young adult. I feel like at some point he’s going to move out and I’ll lose him. So, I guess I’m just trying to squeeze every last bit out of him that I can.’

On the opening episode of the show, Jeff admitted that he was most looking forward to getting to spend some time with his son as they join a host of other famous faces on the reality travel show.
He said: ‘The thing I’m most looking forward to is I feel like I’m going to learn a lot more about my son.
‘He isn’t at home loads and as a result I don’t see loads of him, but the beauty of this trip is that he’s with me and he can’t shake me off’.
But Jeff also joked that Freddie is ‘not the best decision maker’ as he recounted to his son on camera that he had gone off to meet a girl instead of packing for their trip.
He said: ‘One of those moments was last night when you should have been packing for our trip but instead you travelled to see a girl. Classic Fred.’
Just after the full lineup was revealed, Freddie revealed when asked if he was looking forward to the series that he was excited for the rare chance to spend time with his dad.
He said: ‘100%. It’ll be nice to spend that time with Dad, just me and my dad.
‘Dad’s got a busy life, he works a lot and there aren’t loads of times where we’ve done stuff just the two of us.

Jeff admitted that he was most looking forward to getting to spend some time with his son as they join a host of other famous faces on the reality travel show.
‘But when we do I’m really lucky whether it’s going to the cinema, going to the driving range, it’s all good.
The famous faces will say goodbye to lavish transport, smartphones and bank cards and instead must rely on their skills, cunning and ingenuity as well as the kindness of strangers.
Joining Jeff on the show are Ted Lasso’s Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen.
Model and actress Kelly Brook, 44, and her husband, Jeremy Parisi, will also take on the race of a life time.
Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband – then fiancé – Sam, will also take on the challenge in the hope to be crowned winners.
Joining the celebrities will be their nearest and dearest, providing a unique insight into people we thought we knew, through the eyes of those who know them best.
Chief Creative Officer, Studio Lambert, Tim Harcourt, said: ‘After the phenomenally successful run of the first celebrity series, and more recently the fourth series of the regular series – we can’t wait to bring audiences along with us to the huge South American continent and its jaw-dropping scenery, in a race which will push our celebrities and their loved ones to their absolute limits.’
Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment and Events, Catherine Catton said: ‘We’ve been delighted by the success of celebrity Race Across the World, and are now incredibly excited to see some new famous faces and their loved ones take on this difficult yet highly rewarding race of a lifetime. We cannot wait to watch their journey unfold.’
The BAFTA award-winning show, from producers Studio Lambert, will return at 9pm on Wednesday 14th August on BBC One and iPlayer.
It comes after Jeff lifted the lid on the reason why he wouldn’t sign up for beleaguered show Strictly Come Dancing.
The TV presenter admitted in an interview with Closer that if presented with the opportunity to appear on the next season of the hugely popular ITV show, he would have to decline.
He said: ‘I would be uncomfortable doing the next series, because I feel like that was [my son] Bobby’s world. I want to leave that as his thing.’
His EastEnders actor son, Bobby Brazier, 20, finished in second place last year alongside his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell.
Gushing about his son later in the interview, Jeff added: ‘Bobby’s got such an amazing opportunity to pursue his passions, and that’s very much acting…
‘I don’t care what either of my boys do, as long as they’re nice people.’
