Jason Kelce Mocks Travis Over Taylor Swift’s ‘Redwood Tree’ Reference

Travis Kelce’s brother Jason has brutally mocked him for Taylor Swift’s reference to his manhood as a ‘Redwood tree’ on her new album.

The singer, 35, hinted at her sex life with the football player, 36, in her song, titled Wood, from The Life Of A Showgirl.

Taylor mentions his ‘New Heights of manhood’, ‘Redwood tree’ and detailed how ‘his love was the key that opened my thighs’ in the raunchy lyrics.

Speaking on a new episode of their podcast, New Heights, Travis was asked about how he felt about the track by his brother Jason.

‘Do you feel cocky about the song wood,’ Jason teased.

Travis replied: ‘No, any song that she references me in is a very…’

Jason interrupted: ‘That’s not just any song! This is a very specific you. It’s an appendage, it’s a very specific thing.’

‘I love that girl so what do you mean? Any song that she would reference me in any way or form…,’ Travis replied.

Jason exclaimed: ‘It’s not just you… it’s an appendage.’

Travis laughed: ‘I think you’re not understanding the song.

His brother added: ‘Jesus Christ Travis you are out of your mind, “Redwood tree ain’t hard to see,’ it’s very generous.

‘If someone wrote a song about me it would be like, “Japanese Maple sometimes can see…”‘, as Travis burst out laughing at the reference.

Fans were left stunned after working out what the lyrics meant last week, and during her Monday night appearance on The Jimmy Fallon Show, Swift joked that she surprised herself by getting to that raunchy place.

‘So I brought this into the studio and I was like: I want to do a throwback, timeless-sounding song and I had this idea about ‘I gotta knock on wood’ and it would be all these superstitions,’ she explained.

Taylor previously explained: 'It really started out in a very innocent place... I don't know what happened, man. We started vibing and I don't know how we got here'

She continued: ‘And it really started out in a very innocent place… I don’t know what happened, man.

‘I got in there, we started vibing and I don’t know how we got here. But I love the song so much.’

Wood is far from the only time that Travis is referred to on the album as the first track on the album, ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, also appears to reference the moment where he shouted Taylor out on a podcast in 2023.

‘I heard you calling on the megaphone/ You wanna see me all alone,’ Taylor sings in the opening line, seemingly referencing Travis’s public revelation that he attempted to meet her at her concert at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Chiefs.

‘All that time, I sat alone in my tower / You were just honing your powers / Now I can see it all (See it all) / Late one night, you dug me out of my grave and / Saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia (Ophelia) / Keep it one hundrеd on the land, the sea, thе sky,’ the singer croons.

There also appears to be a reference to him in the song ‘Opalite.’ Travis was born on October 5, 1989, meaning his astrological sign is Libra and his birthstones are opal and tourmaline.
