Jane Seymour, 74, Shares Secrets to Her Youthful Looks and Fit Figure

Hollywood icon and former Bond girl Jane Seymour has lifted the lid on her remarkably youthful physique at 74.

The actress detailed her daily routine and the habits she credits for staying fit, radiant and energized well into her seventies during a new interview with People.

‘I’m really good about getting up in the morning. If you’ve had children, you know you get up when you get up,’ Seymour said, referencing her six adult children.

Whether preparing for a grueling 12- to 14-hour workday or easing into a more relaxed morning at home, the star begins her day with a purposeful stretch.

‘Before you get up, wiggle about like a fish. Let your spine move, and your arms, and your feet,’ she explained, crediting a ballerina friend for introducing the habit. ‘It feels freeing.’

Seymour also embraces the small luxuries of downtime, lingering beneath her duvet and enjoying a moment of calm before the demands of the day begin.

‘There’s something lovely about being able to not have to wear clothes,’ she added with a laugh of choosing to sleep nude.

Seymour also explained she refuses to let busy schedules interrupt her from exercising.

‘Depending on how much time I have, I will do some Pilates-type exercise to wake my body up. If I haven’t had time at home, I will do pliés in costume on set. People laugh at me, but I’ll do that whilst learning lines,’ she admitted.

Her skincare regime is just as meticulous.

In the shower, she uses Crepe Erase exfoliant from The Body Firm, a brand she’s partnered with for over a decade.

‘It sloughs off all the dead skin cells. If I do that, I know my skin is going to be looking firm and un-crepey,’ she said.

Sunscreen, she insists, is sacred.

‘I will always put on sunscreen, usually SPF 40. I learned the hard way in Hollywood when George Hamilton told me to fry myself. I realized you age faster than you need to.’

Before work, Seymour takes her vitamins and collagen powder, ensuring she’s fortified no matter what catering offers on set.

‘When I get on set, I have to eat something substantial protein-wise. I usually have plain scrambled eggs. Nothing on them.’

At home, she harvests fresh produce from her organic garden, basil, lettuce, blueberries, herbs, before thanking her chickens for the eggs she collects by hand.

Every morning, Seymour feeds the vibrant fish by hand, watching as they glide through the water with what she calls magic-like serenity.

‘It’s my meditation. Maybe in another life I was a koi fish,’ she mused.

Her creative energy flows into painting, as she sketches watercolors on her ocean-facing balcony, artwork that later inspires her fashion designs.

Still, family remains at the heart of everything.

Seymour checks in with all children daily and keeps close tabs on her four grandchildren.

‘What feeds my soul is family, being outside, appreciating the weather… or doing something I love, which is acting,’ she reflected.

For Seymour, the secret to her ageless grace is not just discipline, it’s gratitude.

‘If I’ve helped somebody, created something, listened to someone… that’s a good day,’ she said.

‘I love the Mediterranean way of eating, it works so well and it tastes good, it includes a lot of delicious food like tomatoes, olives and fish,’ she noted.

Another hack is she has only once big meal a day at around 1:30 pm.

‘I start the day with coffee and hard boiled eggs for protein, and it isn’t till later, around lunch time, that I have a full meal because then I can really enjoy it.

‘I love fish and vegetables, and grow many greens in my back yard which I love to use.’

Later in the day the star loves to snack on nuts like pistachios, cold veggies like cucumbers and celery, and hummus.

‘I do love nuts,’ she said. ‘I am a savory person, I like the salt.’
