Jamie Oliver is a culinary legend.
But somehow the British chef has never tried a very popular Australian treat – the humble Tim Tam.
The chocolate coated biscuits, which have a cream filling, are a staple for Aussies and well known around the world.
Jamie was offered a Tim Tam on The Today Show last week and he seemed baffled by it.
‘What’s that in English? What did you just say?’ he asked the breakfast show’s presenter.

‘Ah, Vegemite toast. What’s a Tim Tam? What is it, it sounds like some terrible rash,’ the cook joked.
Despite his worldly taste buds, Jamie admitted it was his first time ever sampling the cookies.
‘This is the moment of truth – this thing I have never had before,’ he said, before taking a bite.
Luckily Jamie was impressed, telling the host: ‘Very, very nice. I will never forget this moment.’

The celebrity chef, who is currently visiting Australia, has been rumoured to be replacing Jock Zonfrillo on the upcoming season of MasterChef Australia.
Channel 10 insiders have confirmed to Women’s Day that Jamie will be ready to film the new season of the hit cooking show this month.
According to the report, the British foodie has not yet agreed to replace Zonfrillo permanently.
‘Jamie has inked a deal worth around $2million,’ the source told Women’s Day in the latest issue.
It comes amid rumours Jamie will be joining MasterChef Australia following Jock’s sudden shock death at age 46 in April. Jamie and Jock are pictured on MasterChef Australia
