Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie broke her silence, for the first time, on the near-death experience that put her in a coma back in 2017.
‘I did have an accident though,’ the 17-year-old Oak Forest Academy senior said on her YouTube Channel Tuesday.
‘I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and I’m very blessed. So yeah, I’ve just been very accident-prone. I swear my parents are amazing and they did not do anything to me!’
Little Maddie was only eight in 2017 when she was airlifted to Children’s Hospital New Orleans and made a full recovery after spending five days convalescing there from her injuries.
Each year on February 5, the 34-year-old former child star celebrates the softball player’s ‘miracle anniversary’ of her accident flipping an ATV and nearly drowning in their Louisiana pond.
TMZ later revealed the manufacturers of the Polaris RZR 170 restricted anyone under age 10 from operating the ATV, so it was technically illegal for Jamie Lynn to have even gifted the vehicle to Maddie on her seventh birthday.

On Wednesday, Spears gave a very public shout-out to her daughter, who plans on attending the University of Southern Mississippi next year.
‘I’m so proud of this kid, she never lets anything or anyone sit her down, and sharing her journey through it all hopefully inspires others to never stop going hard for what they want out of life,’ the Sweet Magnolias actress – who boasts 4.1M social media followers – gushed.
‘You can work so hard, and do everything right, yet still face adversity, no matter what path you’re on in life. You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can decide how you react to what happens to you.
‘I know being a resilient person is one of the best qualities a human can have, but it’s only earned by having no other choice but to be resilient. Gotta trust God’s plan.’
Maddie has rejected her biological father Casey Aldridge’s last name in favor of her stepfather Jamie Watson’s last name.
Jamie Lynn and the Fluker Transportation LLC owner celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on March 14, and they’re also parents of seven-year-old daughter Ivey.
Spears made headlines when she discovered she was pregnant, age 16, with Maddie while in a gas station bathroom with her ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge, who was 18 at the time.

Jamie Lynn claimed she knew ‘very little’ about the 43-year-old pop star’s 13-year conservatorship, despite petitioning the court as her SJB Revocable trustee to move money into blocked accounts with Lou Taylor’s investment firm Stonebridge in 2020.
Spears’ GMA interview was reportedly filmed at the lavish home of Britney’s former manager Robin Greenhill, who was accused of monitoring all of her communications through a secret shared iCloud account.
