Jamie Foxx recounted the story of when he asked his pal Snoop Dogg to ‘shake up’ his daughter’s boyfriend, in an interview promoting his new film on Tuesday.
The actor, 57, made an appearance on Capital XTRA alongside Cameron Diaz, 52, as the pair continued their promotional tour for Back In Action, which debuted on Netflix on Friday.
Asked about the respective actors’ parenting techniques, Jamie admitted he could be ‘in your face’ at times and once got West Coast rapper Snoop, 53, to intimidate his daughter Corinne’s partner.
He told the station’s Breakfast show with Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie: ‘I’m a little… I could be relaxed. But I could also be very – when it comes to my daughters and the opposite sex – I could be a little more, you know, in your face.
‘My oldest daughter, who’s married now, but when she was dating another guy, he comes over. I’d already done the background check on the dude, but Snoop happened to be there at my crib.
‘I was like, “Snoop, there he is, right there. Shake him up!” And Snoop walks over with, “Hey, what’s up? What’s happening with it? You know, if she hurt, you hurt, homie”.

‘How great is it? So, I am visual in that perspective, but I also understand they got to be kids. You got to let them, you know, live a life. And, you know, that type of thing.’
Model, actress, and television producer Corinne went on to marry Joe Hooten in September 2024 in Jamie’s home in Thousand Oaks, California, and despite having suffered a stroke a year prior, he was able to walk her down the aisle.
When asked the same question, Cameron said: ‘I mean, I have young kids, so it’s a whole different thing. I talk to my kids, like, “You know, that’s not available. I know you really, really want it. I understand. It’s not available”.
‘But my husband always says he’s, like, “you go from zero to 100 and like that”. So, you know. Definitely, I got to work on that.’
The anecdotes come after Jamie and Cameron posed together at Cheval Three Quays near the Tower of London, on the day their movie landed on the streamer.

Last week Jamie enjoyed a star-studded evening out in London with his younger daughter Anelise, 16, as he promoted the new film.

Jamie said he ‘didn’t remember anything’ from the time he was rushed into A&E to when he finally came round 20 days later.
‘I was very unwell but now I am back feeling good. It makes you realise that you need people that care and love you around to get you through it.
‘I didn’t remember anything happening so when I came to 20 days later I thought I was being pranked. It was beyond crazy.’

He had been filming for Back In Action when he started experiencing a ‘bad headache’ in Atlanta and initially was given a cortisone shot, but his sister Deidra Dixon, ‘knew something was wrong’.
Deidra drove him to Atlanta’s Piedmont Hospital, where he underwent a life-saving procedure.
The family kept his health battle private at the time, with Jamie only revealing last month what really happened.
He previously revealed how he vividly remembers waking up from his coma on May 4, and being unable to walk.
He recalled: ‘When I woke up, I found myself in a wheelchair. I couldn’t walk.’
Yet Jamie didn’t want to believe he’d had a stroke and recounted his therapist telling him about his ego: ‘You need to kill the old Jamie so the new Jamie can thrive.’
He also reflected: ‘God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke.’
Of his return to the public eye, Jamie told Graham: ‘I knew I had to get back and realised the way to do it was by being funny. I told so many jokes people thought I was mad, and then I would act as someone else – for three whole days I was Denzel Washington.’

And the Spider-Man star raised eyebrows when he jokingly declared that he’s done dating white women in a song on Netflix special, released last month.
He sang he’s been ‘cured’ and is ‘back on the black side of town’.
Sitting down at a piano, the Hollywood star sang: ‘Sisters, I’m here to tell you, I’ve been cured.

As audience members applauded and leapt out their seats, Jamie continued: ‘I’m back on the Black side of town!
