The sun may not have been out, but it was still a case of guns out for Jamie Durie this week.
The TV veteran, 54, was spotted enjoying an ocean dip with some pals in Sydney on Monday.
While his fiancé Ameka Jane and their two children Beau, three, and Nash, one, were possibly enjoying the family’s newly minted Avalon Beach mega mansion, Jamie wasted no time getting into the swim of things.
The former Block star cut a healthy figure, stepping out in a pair of board shorts that featured a pattern of a tropical scene.
Jamie was not afraid to flaunt his bronzed body as he prepared to take the plunge, showing off his muscular biceps.
The overcast morning appeared to be having an effect on Jamie, with the host appearing to briskly rub his bands together as he prepared to take a dive.

He looked to be having a great time on his morning swim, beaming as he stepped into the water.
Jamie also looked chuffed to be in the company of his swimming pals, with the former Manpower Australia star spotted chuckling as he lolled about in the ocean.
The reality TV host eschewed the yellow skull caps worn by one of his aquatic amigos, opting instead for a pair of swimming goggles.
As he made his way out of the water, up a set of sandstone steps, Jamie looked satisfied with his morning workout.
As he deftly navigated the steps, Jamie was still wearing the smile that had been evident for most of his swim session.
For a seasoned TV veteran such as Jamie, the gaze of the paparazzi always looms large.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Jamie revealed that shirtless beach snaps were all part and parcel of being a celebrity.
‘Look you know it’s all par for the course,’ he said.

‘You put yourself out there in television and media and so forth, you’ve got to expect those sorts of things are going to pop up every now in the mags.’
Continuing, Jamie said that he and Ameka prefer to just get on with enjoying life with their two children Beau and Nash.
‘We don’t care. We just get on with our lives,’ he said.
‘For us, enjoying time with our kids at the beach, that’s what Australia loves to do. I’m not going to stop doing that.’
The horticulturalist and his family recently moved into their six-storey mega-mansion in Avalon Beach.
The home took three years to build, which is chronicled on Jamie’s new show Growing Home.
The documentary-style program shows all the little details that went into bringing Jamie’s sustainable dream to life, creating a home that ‘maximised everything we wanted out of a house without compromise’ all while treading lightly on the planet.
‘I’ve always wanted to make a show that focuses on sustainable building, not just in the home but in gardens,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘For me, if we were going to make a show about sustainable building, then we should practise what we preach and show our house first.
‘So that’s what we did.’
But the build, which he dubs the ‘Trojan horse of sustainability’, has not been without a few hiccups for Jamie along the way.
The landscaping guru was granted approval in April 2022 by the Northern Beaches Council over his development application (DA) for the waterfront property, despite receiving more than 50 objections from angry locals.
His plans to knock down a 1960s cottage and replace it with a sprawling six-storey mansion for his family was first met with opposition from neighbours who objected to the removal of 17 native trees.
Jamie previously clarified that 1518 native and endemic species will be planted on and around the property.
‘We’ve rectified the issue and I have sent a letter to all the neighbours and the council explaining what’s happening and so hopefully they will see with our new plans,’ he said on Today Extra in 2021.
Neighbours then had an issue with whether the home’s construction would impact the ecosystem of a local microbat colony.

Jamie also revealed to Daily Mail Australia, back in February that he hadn’t ruled out a possible return to The Block.
Jamie was the inaugural host of the reality juggernaut for two seasons before it was cancelled in 2004.
Nine eventually revived the series six years later, with current host Scott Cam at the helm.
Following rumours of a potential return to the series last year, Jamie said that while he was currently happy at Channel Seven, it was a case of never say never when it came to The Block.
‘Like I say, you never know what the future holds. I’m the sort of person that keeps a very open mind to everything, and I started my career at Nine,’ he said.
‘I’m very happy at the moment at Seven, but you know, TV has changed a lot over the years and it’s a pretty transient world these days.’
