Brooding in the bath in the altogether, James Norton’s smouldering soak can mean only one thing.
And that’s the arrival of a new gripping Sunday night TV drama, with its usual dose of male nudity to set female viewers’ pulses racing.
Norton’s hirsute chest follows Aidan Turner’s topless scythe-wielding Poldark, Tom Hiddleston’s saucy shower scene in The Night Manager, and Theo James’s bare buttocks in the raunchy adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sanditon.
Happy Valley actor Norton, 40, stars as Harold of Wessex in the new 1066 drama King & Conqueror, which airs on BBC One tomorrow at 9pm.
The historical drama chronicles the tumultuous time preceding the Battle of Hastings and the duel for power between Harold Godwinson and William of Normandy, played by Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
While the show is set in England, Normandy, Flanders and Norway, it was filmed in Iceland.
