James Morrison was forced to cancel two of his shows on Tuesday after ‘straining his voice’, he announced on his social media.
The musician, 41, said he was ‘devastated’ to have to reschedule the shows at Rough Trade East, London, but rest assured he would be back on stage soon.
He wrote: ‘Hello everyone. I have some bad news. I’m devastated to say, I am having to reschedule my two Instore performances today at Rough Trade East.
‘It’s been such a pleasure speaking to you all after the shows so far and performing each night but my voice is strained and I am unable to sing tonight.
‘I am so incredibly sorry to have to do this again. We promise to reschedule as soon as possible. Thank you for all your patience and understanding.’

Daily Mail revealed in October that the hitmaker found love with girlfriend Mariel Jones, following the tragic death of his estranged wife, Gill Catchpole in January 2024.
Gill is the mother of his two daughters, Elsie, 16 and Ada Rose, six.
Mariel, who calls herself an ‘adventurer’ has shared pictures of herself and James as far back as July last year, and two months ago, they passionately kissed while on a romantic trip to Rome.
They’ve also shared pictures from their trips to Turkey, held hands in the Azores, and cuddled up in Sicily.
James first appears on Mariel’s Instagram last July in a picture taken at the Beat-Herder Festival in Lancashire, with their arms around one another.

And it seems the relationship has the full support of James’ daughter Elsie who is pictured with Mariel on her Instagram and regularly posts sweet messages on her posts.
Mariel shared a picture of herself with Elsie writing: ‘Always in it together’ and Elsie replied ‘I love you.’
James had not been in a relationship with Gill for some time when she passed away.
The café owner and caterer, died by suicide at the family home in Gloucestershire, aged 45 after battling PTSD and post-natal depression.
She and James met when they were aged 17 and she was the muse for many of his songs.
She was pictured without her ring on in the summer of 2023 and had her relationship status as ‘single’ on Facebook.
Gill had previously spoken of her ‘ups, downs and heartache’ and was looking for a property in Whitminster shortly before her death.
She had been suffering with health problems in recent years.

Last month, Elsie joined her beloved dad to perform on stage in Manchester to sing his hit Broken Strings
Her death came 14 months after she had a life-saving kidney transplant which left her shattered – the fourth family tragedy Mr Morrison has suffered in recent years.
James has had several long breaks between hit records and has spoken about his grief following the death of his father, brother and nephew after he became a star with his breakthrough song You Give Me Something.
James and his family were ‘devastated’ by Gill’s death.
Gill underwent a kidney transplant in late 2021 after one was working at ’35 per cent’. It came as a shock to her.
She wrote in a November 2023 post: ‘Well, what can I say. What a difference a year makes. This time last year I was having my kidney transplant and a year on after many ups downs and heartache I am a here owning my own business.
‘At the start of this year I myself never saw this coming. For anyone out there struggling I can tell you from experience it does get better.
‘Thanks to my amazing family and friends that have been there through it all and picked up the many pieces of me and my life. You all know who you are. Today I feel blessed.’
A ‘devastated’ Morrison described his romance with Gill as a ‘fairytale’ that began when he was 17 and she moved into his mother’s home as a lodger with her boyfriend.
James is clearly very happy with his new love and on this post, Mariel wrote that he and Elsie are her favourite people

The star has spoken candidly of his romance with Gill, telling podcast White Wine Question Time that she had moved into his mother’s house as a lodger with her then-boyfriend.
That boyfriend ended up going on a date with Morrison’s mother, and he and Gill, would later fall in love. James revealed that he had been learning songs from a Stevie Wonder album and began ‘serenading’ her with the tunes in a bid to impress her.
He said: ‘When she moved in, I started singing all the songs off that album to her. I was playing all of that stuff on the acoustic guitar. I’m not like: ‘I love romance.’ But I do find certain things romantic and the fact that we met each other the way we did. It’s like a little fairytale or something’.
James has spoken of helping Gill find strength when daughter Ada was born 13 weeks premature, weighing just 1lb 11oz, speaking of a ‘difficult year’ as the tiny baby was brought into the world.
Elsie was also born in difficult conditions, with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. The tricky birth saw Ms Catchpole spend a week and a half in hospital.
James, who himself was born premature and had to be brought back from the brink four times after contracting whooping cough as a baby, said his partner was irreplaceable after everything she had endured for their children.
