Just weeks ago James Corden was the talk of Britain alongside Ruth Jones as audiences settled in for the final ever episode of Gavin and Stacey.
But rather than jetting back to Hollywood after his sitcom success, James has instead chosen to undertake a quirkier new role.
The actor has reportedly been secretly starring a new West End performance of the stage show You Me Bum Bum Train.
The immersive phenomenon takes place in a secret location in central London and the contents of the show are kept secret too to ensure audience members are completely surprised when they go.
You Me Bum Bum Train’s team is made up entirely of volunteers and a string of A-listers have taken part, with James the latest to sign on to act for free.
After first watching the show – which has triggered panic attacks in audience members – eight years during its last run, James is said to have been desperate to take part himself.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ‘James had been to see the show eight years ago when it was in London before so when he saw it was back he wanted to take in the madness himself.
‘All actors in the play volunteer for free – regardless if you’re an A-lister or have done little more than attended drama class at school.
‘The whole thing is shrouded in secrecy and no one is meant to talk about what goes on but some of the biggest names in the world have taken part.
Guests are said to have been shocked when confronted with James in one of the roles, but the rules of the show meant they couldn’t address his appearance.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for James for comment.
The news comes weeks amid James’ professional success recently thanks to the final ever episode of Gavin And Stacey.
His BBC comedy, co-created with Ruth Jones, was met with rave reviews and fan adoration when it aired its hugely anticipated finale on Christmas Day.
After the episode aired, James shared a slew of behind the scenes snaps from Gavin & Stacey’s final episode to Instagram on Boxing Day.

James, who stars as Smithy and co-created the series with Ruth Jones, also thanked the whopping 12.5million fans who tuned in for the send off in an emotional post.

But just days ago, James posted a message about ‘falling with nothing to hold onto,’ hours amid news of his secret row with Prince Harry.
Katie Hind revealed on Sunday the explosive tale of how David Beckham had to play peacemaker after Prince Harry made a jibe to James at a Christmas party in 2011.
And hours after the row was revealed, Gavin And Stacey star James posted a cryptic message from illustrator Charlie Mackesy on Instagram with the caption: ‘We all need this from Charlie Mackesy every once in a while [love heart emoji].’
The message read: ‘Once in a while, out of the blue, your heart spins, and it can feel like you’re falling with nothing to hold onto. But you are not the storm, and it will pass.’
James and Prince Harry were locked in a row in 2011 when James arrived at a Christmas night out at exclusive members’ venue the Arts Club in London‘s Mayfair.
James had arrived late to the bash after coming off stage in his West End show One Man, Two Guvnors.

David ended up playing peacemaker and the row was resolved (David Beckham and James on a night out in London in 2010)
And when he made his entrance, a tipsy Harry reportedly made a joke about the actor’s appearance that left James ‘absolutely raging’.
Following the row, they patched things up and the two men became so close that James had hosting duties at Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding reception.
Two years later, he became even more friendly when the Sussexes moved to California – where James was hosting The Late Late Show.
In 2021, Harry appeared on The Late Late Show where the pair rode a double-decker bus around Los Angeles and sang The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air theme song.
