Jaime King is being taken to court over allegedly unpaid attorney fees totaling more than $100,000 from to her divorce from former husband Kyle Newman.
According to a judge’s order from earlier this week obtained by the Daily Mail, King has been ordered to appear in court to share information about her assets and how much money she has in her bank accounts to help her ex’s former law firm Wasser, Cooperman & Mandles collect.
King — who lost custody of her sons to Newman earlier this year — was previously ordered in 2024 to pay $98,441.16 in fees to the law firm, at which the influential divorce attorney Laura Wasser is a partner.
The original order also said the law firm was eligible to receive interest on the fees, and it says she owes an additional $2,000.
The Daily Mail has contact a representative for King and Wasser, Cooperman & Mandles, but has not yet received replies.
Judge Shelley Kaufman ordered King to appear in court on September 16, and the 46-year-old actress faces the threat of arrest if she fails to show up.

In Judge Joshua D. Wayser’s order from May 14, 2024, he ordered King to pay within 30 days the fees to Wasser, Cooperman & Mandles.
‘It is appropriate that [King], the high earner in the marriage, pay those fees,’ he wrote at the time, adding that the Sin City star had ‘already agreed to do so.’
However, the law firm is alleging that King has so far failed to follow through.
In a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, a representative for King said, ‘This is the first time Jaime or her current legal team have been made aware of this filing.’
They added that ‘The continued media attention on the mounting financial and emotional costs of this unnecessarily aggressive divorce highlights the unrelenting pressure Jaime has faced.
‘For years, she has endured fear tactics and legal intimidation while doing everything in her power to protect her children and rebuild a stable life for them,’ King’s representative said. ‘Jaime remains committed to the healing for her family, and moving forward with grace. We respectfully ask for privacy and compassion during this time.’
While King and her ex-husband still share joint legal custody of their two boys, Newman was given ‘tie-breaking authority’ to make decisions for the children for the time being.
King has reportedly had financial difficulties recently.

King has had other financial difficulties. In January, she was sued by her landlord for allegedly failing to pay $42,580 in back rent.

In January, she was sued by her landlord Sheila Irani over unpaid rent, with documents claiming she owed around $42,580 in back rent, according to Us Weekly.
The property was reportedly rented to King for $10,145 per month, and the actress signed the lease in April 2023.
King later said that she settled the lawsuit with the landlord privately.
Then, in March, she suffered another setback after she lost custody of her sons James, 11, and Leo, 10, to Newman.
King’s former friend Taylor Swift was famously named the godmother to Leo in 2015.
The actress and model was ordered to have any visitations with her sons supervised until she completes a mandatory drug and alcohol program that last six months.
Last month, King got engaged to the investment banker Austin Sosa.
