Jade Goody’s widower Jack Tweed says he remembers their wedding ‘like it was yesterday’ as he marked 16 years since they tied the knot.

The pair married on February 22 2009 at Down Hall country house near Hatfield Heath in Essex, just a month before Jade tragically passed away from cervical cancer aged 27.

And taking to his Instagram stories, Jack, 37,  fondly remembered his late wife with a sweet post. 

Jack, who recently revealed he was reluctant to marry again, penned: ’16 years ago this day was remember it like yesterday’ [sic]

His mother Mary also commented on his post, remarking that he ‘never missed a year’ of marking the occasion. 

The tragic mother-of-two only had weeks left to live, after she was told her cervical cancer had become terminal and had spread to her liver, bowel and groin, on the day the couple exchanged vows.

She died while asleep in her Essex family home, exactly one month after marrying Jack.

Prior to that, Jade dated TV presenter Jeff Brazier and the couple went on to have two sons – Bobby, 21, and 20-year-old Freddie.

It comes after Jack, who in July revealed girlfriend Ellie Sargeant was pregnant, confessed he is reluctant to walk down the aisle again despite how happy he is with Ellie.

When asked if he was thinking about getting married again, he told The Sun: ‘Yeah, but at the same time, in my head, I don’t know if I would get married again, because I feel like I’ve done it all… I’ve already been married.’

He continued: ‘I know it sounds a bit horrible.’

‘Obviously, she would get married, but I do want to spend the rest of my life with her. We haven’t had one argument since we’ve been together.’ 

He also admitted  he wants to ‘be with her forever’ as they ‘get on so well’.

Jack previously spoke about how he ‘can’t wait’ to start a family with her.

However, the actor confessed he is reluctant to walk down the aisle again despite how happy he is with Ellie, 30 (pictured together in 2023)

He told the publication he was ‘so excited’ when he found out Ellie was pregnant and believes he’s now in the right place to be a dad after he battling his demons in his twenties. 

During his lowest days Jack struggled with alcohol and drug addiction as he couldn’t come to terms with Jade’s passing, however, the star has now turned his life around and is ready for a new chapter.

He confessed he has ‘grown up’ since his younger days and admitted that he needs to make himself happy. 

Jack and Ellie met in 2022 through mutual friends in Essex, and went public with their relationship in September of the same year.

Jack gushed he had always wanted kids and said he believed that Jade would have been ‘buzzing’ for him, because she had always thought he would be a great father.

He was stepfather to Jade’s two sons from her previous relationship with Jeff Brazier , but admitted that he had always wanted children of his own.
