Jacob Elordi’s Shocking Admission on Euphoria Set After Angus Cloud’s Tragic Death

Jacob Elordi is set to return to the highly anticipated third season of HBO’s streaming hit Euphoria alongside co-stars Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya.

And the 28-year-old Brisbane-born actor has revealed that the cast is in the dark over the show’s new plot.

In a recent interview, Elordi, who plays the troubled Nate in the controversial high school drama, said that fans can expect to see his character in a storyline that jumps ahead in time from where the last season left off.

‘I was pretty busy,’ Elordi told Variety of his time filming the show.

Asked whether the characters of his co-stars would also be part of his ‘time jump’ storyline, Elordi confessed, ‘I don’t know what anyone else is doing. It’s all quite separate.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Elordi gushed over working again with the Euphoria team, which includes Maude Apatow, who plays fan favourite Alexis.

‘It’s been eight years or something since I started. It’s just lovely to see all these people that you’ve grown up with. It’s the same crew, the same cast,’ he said.

Tragically, one cast member who won’t be returning for Euphoria season three is Angus Cloud, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 25.

The beloved star died after an ‘accidental overdose’ of cocaine, meth and fentanyl.

Cloud, who played the character of Fez, the drug dealer in the hit show, was found unresponsive in his family home in Oakland, California and pronounced dead on the scene by responders.

Alameda County Coroner’s office said at the time: ‘Angus Cloud died from a lethal combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and more, in what is ruled as an accidental overdose.

‘Angus suffered from acute intoxication from the combination of drugs, which also included benzodiazepine.’

A week before his death, he had travelled to Ireland to bury his father, who died in May after a ‘brief battle with cancer’.

Cloud’s mother Lisa called 911 and said he had suffered a ‘possible overdose’, telling authorities that he didn’t have a pulse.

Law enforcement sources said Cloud did not leave behind a note before his death, according to TMZ.

The young actor was one of the breakout stars of Euphoria, appearing in both series of the Sam Levinson-directed drama.

He was most often in scenes alongside his partner in crime Ashtray, played by Javon Walton.

Sharing a picture of the pair on Instagram, Javon wrote: ‘Rest easy brother’ and later ‘forever family.’
