Jackie ‘O’ Gets Emotional at Clovelly Beach

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson was spotted getting emotional as she read a spiritual book down Clovelly beach on Tuesday.

The radio host, 49, enjoyed some downtime on the sunny day as she took her book, Return to the Soul by Cynthia Hickman, down to the seaside for a spot of reading.

But Jackie appeared to become overwhelmed with emotional while reading the poignant book as she looked sombre during the outing.

She seemed to be wiping tears from her eyes as she delved into the philosophical book, described as ‘an invitation to engage with life from the perspective of the soul’.

While reading the transformative novel, Jackie also soaked up the rays as she sat in a secluded spot by the beach on the balmy day.

For the outing, she put on a leggy display in a white crocheted mini dress and completed her laidback look with a pair of flip-flops.

She shielded her eyes with a pair of dark shades and swept her golden locks into a ponytail as she enjoyed some downtime after her work day with KIIS FM.

She has had a busy few months after her radio show, The Kyle And Jackie O Show, expanded into Melbourne earlier this year in a multimillion-dollar move.

However, their show has so far failed to top the ratings in the city, being beaten by KIIS FM’s dumped stars Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips this month.

The duo’s Melbourne breakfast show was axed last year to make way for Jackie and Kyle Sandilands’ big expansion into the city from Sydney.

Despite the shake-up, the Jase and Lauren Show, which now airs on rival network Nova FM, has been crowned Melbourne’s most listened to breakfast program.

The comedic chat show has taken home the coveted number one spot in the newly-released 5th radio ratings survey results for 2024 from GFK.

Jase and Lauren’s popular program gained 0.3 points and rose to 9.9 per cent in audience share, giving it a clear lead over rivals The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Kyle and Jackie O trailed significantly at a 6.1 per cent share, after its premiere in Melbourne on April 29, and was the city’s fifth most listened to breakfast show.

However, Melbourne newcomers Kyle and Jackie O still marked a slight rise in the city’s ratings, from 5.9 to 6.1 per cent.

Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick was the runner-up with a 9.6 per cent audience share while Gold FM’s Christian O’Connell was in third place.

Kyle and Jackie O took their breakfast radio show to Melbourne in April in a huge multimillion-dollar expansion deal, which triggered the axing of Jase and Lauren’s KIIS FM breakfast show.

At the time, an unapologetic Kyle said he felt indifferent to his competitors being sacked as it ultimately came down to who was attracting the most listeners.

‘No, I don’t care. That’s why we went for Melbourne, we were like, ‘We’ve given this Jase and Lauren on KIIS FM a good run, it can’t get over fourth in the radio ratings, so we’ll take it’,’ he told news.com.au.

Despite being beaten in the Melbourne ratings, The Kyle and Jackie O Show once again helped KIIS FM claim the top spot as Sydney’s most listened to radio station.
