Jack Vidgen Unveils Glamorous New Look After Rehab and Relapse

Jack Vidgen is on the mend after his most recent stint in rehab.

The former Australia’s Got Talent star, 28, appeared on The Morning Show with Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur on Wednesday and looked refreshed and happy.

For the appearance, he wore a white Carla Zampatti suit and a full face of glam makeup.

Jack also showed off a pair of six-inch stiletto boots as he crossed his legs and confessed he was nervous to appear on live TV amid his struggles.

‘I have relapsed a few times since last October. I’ve been back in rehab. I’ve been open about those relapses on social media,’ Jack said.

‘Obviously relapsing isn’t a great thing. It’s not a positive thing, but it is a part of recovery. And being able to post that journey, I hope is helping someone.’

Jack admitted his passion for singing had ‘taken a backseat’ to his drug addiction in recent years, which has seen the star check in and out of rehab several times.

‘You entered rehab earlier this year, you’ve been back a few times. How are you doing now?’ Kylie, 58, asked.

‘I’m good. I’m a bit nervous, to be honest. I haven’t really done this in a while.

‘I haven’t talked about this apart from on my social media. It has been a hard few years,’ he said.

‘I’ve been battling addiction now for about seven years.  It is a progressive illness.

‘But right now I’m just happy that I’m in a really good space. God willing, that’s in the past for me.’

Larry, 60, asked Jack if he feels it is important to be transparent about his addiction struggles on Instagram, where he has just shy of 100,000 followers.

Jack began sharing more personal details of his seven-year battle with substance abuse last October.

‘I felt like it was such a relief and a weight off my shoulders [to speak online],’ Jack said.

‘Because I was always so scared of being caught out – especially by the media.

‘I was just always very scared of that.’

The singer said sharing his story online feels like ‘taking that power back’ and his intention is to ‘help at least one person’ by speaking about experiences that are often kept quiet.

‘I’ve had an outpouring of support and love and messages from the parents of children who are going through addiction,’ he added.

‘From the outside looking in Jack, it does look like it’s a rollercoaster. I guess that is reflective of this disease, right?’ Kylie asked.

‘Absolutely,’ he answered, adding that the ‘personal stuff’ that triggered the recent relapses is behind him now.

‘That’s behind me now. I feel like I’m finally getting this passion and love for singing back. I’m really glad that I’m in this new chapter and that I want to sing again.’

Jack will appear alongside Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Whitney Rose and Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice in variety show Bring Back My Wives on July 11 and 12.

The shows, at Enmore Theatre and Penrith Panthers League Club, will also feature a bevy of RuPaul’s Drag Race stars from around the world.

‘I don’t know all the details,’ Jack said.

‘But I’m coming, I’m singing, and I’m going to have a camp old time and meet some housewives.’
