Each episode features 100 contestants .
Players achieve this by correctly answering a conundrum only 1 per cent of the population is expected to get right.
The show has enjoyed huge success, including three wins for the National Television Award for Best Quiz Show.
It has now been confirmed the much-loved programme is returning for three further series.

Each episode features 100 contestants competing for a jackpot of up to £100,000 - and the chance to join the prestigious 1% Club
Reacting to the news, Lee said: 'I'm delighted that ITV has given us three more series to discover Great British clever clogs.
'I just told my family how old I would be when these three series are over, but apparently I got it wrong. Which shows you how well I'd do as a contestant.'
ITV's Director of Factual Entertainment, Sue Murphy, added: 'We're thrilled to be renewing The 1% Club for a further three years.
'The show has become a huge hit with viewers of all ages. With Lee at the helm as always, we can't wait to bring more series and specials to the viewers.
'It's a brilliant entertainment show with a unique format that viewers love to play along with at home, and its broad appeal makes it a hugely valuable part of our slate on ITV.'
The show's executive producers and creators Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach, said: 'It's a wonderful vote of confidence that ITV has commissioned three more years of the show and we're delighted that so many more people will now get the chance to join The 1% Club.'
In addition to more series and specials of The 1% Club, viewers will also see the return of later this year and The 1% Club Kids Special is due to air this month.

In March, a contestant after solving a difficult clock question.
The episode came down to two finalists, Zoe and Ryan, playing for the big money prize.
Their final question asked: 'What word is represented by the times on the clocks below?'
Below the question were five varying types of clocks, each of which displayed a different time.
When it came to reveal their answers to Lee, it transpired Ryan had not put anything down - while Zoe opted for 'Label'.

'Label' was soon revealed to be correct, meaning Zoe successfully won the entire £97,000 jackpot.
Speaking afterwards, Lee shared he had witnessed the moment that Zoe realised she knew the answer.
The player replied: 'I think after I put it, I was like, "I think that's right"'.
The 1% Club airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
