DIVORCE

In many ways Kim’s role as Allura mirrors parts of her real life having been through three divorces herself – with some being more amicable than others.

This week she said divorce was ‘such a relatable topic’ and had experience of it ‘with my family and parents growing up’.

Kim was married to Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004, Kris Humphries from 2011 to 2013 and most recently to Kanye West from 2014 to 2022.

Kim and Kris famously split 72 days after their wedding and their would be trouble to follow.

Kim initially stated she and Kris remained friends, but their split became contentious when Humphries filed for an annulment, claiming fraud instead of a divorce.

The legal battle lasted for over a year before the divorce was finalized.

While her split from Kanye became toxic due to disagreements over their kids and his increasingly erratic public and online behaviour.

In the show Kim must battle with Chase in court to secure what is rightfully hers after her lawyer nemesis Carr (Sarah Paulson) ends up representing him.

WEALTH

The similarities between her character Allura and her real life begin with her very first solo scene in the show where she drives up to her huge LA mansion in a Bentley with a Birkin on the seat.

She then struts through the corridors of her palatial abode to get ready for her anniversary dinner with hunky husband Chase – who is ten years younger than her -, as she instructs her chefs to ‘have dinner ready in an hour’.

In real life Kim has quite the lavish lifestyle herself living in a huge $60 million compound in the affluent Hidden Hills area.

She is also never shy of showing off her many designer bags and even famously drove a Bentley at the start of her rise to fame.

Kim’s net worth is estimated to be approximately $1.7 billion as of May 2025, according to Forbes.

She became a billionaire in 2021, a status she has maintained since.

She is owner of several hugely successful businesses including SKIMS and KKW Beauty.

CAREER SUCCESS

In the show, Kim’s character Allura is partner at a top female-only law firm along with with Naomi and Niecy’s characters.

She boasts a fierce and cut-throat attitude and in one of her first scenes brags that ‘business is how I unwind’.

Kim has previously admitted that she is a workaholic but hilariously quipped that it was better to be addicted to hard work than other things.

Speaking in the last series of The Kardashians she is seen joking: ‘Do you want me to be doing drugs? Like if I’m addicted to working and being busy, I don’t think that’s the worst thing.’

One scene sees her encouraging her young client Grace to try and get as much money out of her billionaire husband amid their divorce as she shouts: ‘The settlement you’re asking for it a pittance!’

Kim and her ex husband Kanye themselves had a prenuptial agreement and kept their property largely separate. They share custody of their four children.

Kim’s momager Kris helped bring about the show starring her as the lead role.

Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden introduced show creator Ryan Murphy to Kris.

‘This show started with Dana Walden, as everything in my career has for the past 20 years,’ Ryan recently told Deadline.

‘It started because I said I really wanted to meet Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian. Dana facilitated a dinner and I did something I’ve never done in my career, which was I brought a reality pitch.

‘I finished my pitch, and I was sort of nervous. Kris said ‘That was really good, sweetie, but you should write a role for Kim’. A scripted role.’

She then went on to star in American Horror Story: Delicate.

After American Horror Story went well, Ryan said that he and Kris ‘marched into Hulu’ and said they had an idea for Kim to play a divorce attorney – and the rest is history.

LAW ASPIRATIONS

Kim aspires to be a lawyer herself. And her qualification could be imminent.

She appeared on the Graham Norton show last week, where she revealed, ‘I took the bar exam in July. I get the results a few days after our [All’s Fair] premiere. So in two weeks. So everyone please pray for me. I worked really hard.’

As she awaits the results of the bar exam, she could be days away from fulfilling her longtime dream to be a legal professional.

The reality television star-turned-mogul estimated, ‘Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K and be a trial lawyer. That’s what I really want.’

Kim has spent six years working on a law apprenticeship – the unconventional path that allowed her to bypass law school – before officially wrapping the program on May 21, 2025.

She passed the ‘baby bar’ on her fourth try in December 2021, clearing the first major hurdle on her way to becoming a licensed attorney.

Later she faced the notoriously brutal California bar, considered the hardest in the nation, with one of the lowest pass rates.

Kim took the two-day exam in July, answering 200 multiple-choice questions, five essay prompts, and one 90-minute performance test, according to TMZ.

She will find out the results on November 7, just two days before they’re made public on November 9 at 6pm PT.

The SKIMS founder is following in her late father Robert Kardashian’s footsteps in her pursuit of becoming a lawyer.

Her dad was a revered defense attorney, most notably for O.J. Simpson during his 1995 murder trial.

Robert died in July 2003 from esophageal cancer at age 59.

This week Kim said practising divorce law is not in her future and that her law interests are elsewhere.

She told The BBC that she is ‘more into criminal justice and reform work’ adding, ‘I don’t think I can ever really do family law’.

‘It was the wildest idea that I was going to law school – but to me it all makes sense and I hope that I’m forever curious and always want to try new things,’ she said.

However when it comes to All’s Fair, after watching the pilot, many viewers were left baffled by Kim’s prominent role in a series starring award-winning actresses.

Her performance was called ‘stiff’ and ‘monotone’ with another fan writing on X, ‘Kim Kardashian cannot act and she need to stop touching her face.’

‘Lmao Kim is so monotone I can’t,’ another wrote.

‘Trying to watch All’s Fair but I cant with Kim Kardashian,’ another added.

‘All those amazing actors and Ryan Murphy puts Kim Kardashian in it too…. WTAF?????#AllsFair’

‘Why is she so stiff?’ one questioned.

‘Need to understand why Ryan Murphy entertains Kim Kardashians acting career.’

‘Yeah casting Kim Kardashian was the worst mistake they could’ve made for this show… it ruins the tone immediately because she cannot act. WHY WHY WHY,’ another asked.

‘Damn Kim K really can’t act lol, she’s so monotone… you can tell she’s acting nth comes natural.’

The episode started out with Kim as Allura, and Naomi, who plays Liberty Ronson, ten years prior, as they air their frustration about women not being taken seriously at male dominated law firms.
