The two sisters accused of being ‘lobster scammers’ raised eyebrows on Wednesday for a very surprising reason when they appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Influencers Julie, 31, and Belinda Nguyen, 24, appeared on the hit breakfast show to discuss the aftermath of being accused of faking food poison at a Sydney restaurant in 2020 to get out of paying the bill.

‘A lot of people called me a scammer, a sex worker and told me to pay for the lobster. People give us dirty looks,’ Julie said.

However, the interview caused quite a stir for a different reason after the sisters later posted a video to TikTok with a filter of themselves posing with co-host Kyle, 52.

The sisters are virtually unrecognisable in the video which shows them with their skin smoothed over and big smiles pasted onto their faces.

In July, it was reported the sisters and their mother Jennifer Do were suing a Chinese restaurant after being accused of faking food poisoning then failing to pay $364 for a Christmas lobster dinner.

The restaurant’s operators found themselves in court after slamming the women for acting in an ‘entitled’ manner and engaging in ‘totally classless’, dishonest and fraudulent behaviour.

The trio dined at Cabramatta’s upmarket Silver Pearl eatery in Sydney’s south-west on Christmas Day in 2020.

The three social media influencers, who were joined by a fourth companion, ordered a live lobster to be served sashimi-style along with one bottle of red wine.

A version of what the Nguyen sisters and Ms Do did next is contained in a post published on the restaurant’s Instagram page and produced in the Federal Court.

‘Halfway through the meal, they complained to staff that they were “feeling sick” and accused us of serving them frozen lobster, instead of fresh/live lobster, which apparently was the reason for them “feeling sick”,’ the post claimed.

‘Note the CCTV footage of them continuing to eat WHILST complaining about the food too.’

The post claimed restaurant management identified the women through Instagram the next day and sent a direct message requesting they settle the $364 bill.

The Nguyen sisters and Ms Do claim the posts portrayed them as fraudulently obtaining a free dinner of lobster and wine by falsely claiming the food made them sick.
