Influencer Mitchell Orval details horrific New Year’s Eve near-death accident that saw fiancée Chloe Szepanowski step in to prevent tragedy: ‘She was blue’

Influencer Mitchell Orval has shared a chilling account of an accident where his fiancée, Chloe Szepanowski, acted quickly to prevent a tragedy.

On Wednesday, Mitchell, 28, took to his Instagram story to recount the harrowing experience they faced while celebrating a friend’s birthday at Sanctuary Cove Resort in Queensland.

‘Yesterday, we had the scariest end to 2024,’ he began.

‘We were at Sanctuary Cove celebrating a friend’s birthday when the unthinkable happened.’

Mitchell revealed that the group was horrified when two children approached them, carrying the unconscious body of a three-year-old girl.

‘We were sitting by the pool when two young kids (10-12 max) came walking over carrying a 3 year old girl saying she had drowned,’ Mitchell explained.

He added that his fiancée Chloe, 26, immediately jumped in to help the child in an effort to revive her.

‘@chloeszep ran over and grabbed her, started slapping her on her back, she was blue – completely unconscious,’ he said.

With Chloe’s attempt successful, Mitchell revealed that professional boxer Casey Caswell also stepped in to assist the little girl while the shocked group awaited emergency services. 

‘@caseycaswell came over and luckily got her to vomit another five times,’ he said.

‘We called an ambulance and she was in and out of consciousness for the next 15 minutes.’

Mitchell later shared that he learned on Wednesday morning that the little girl was doing fine.

He issued a stern warning about pool safety, saying, ‘She was wearing a swim jacket apparently and took it off! If you’re reading this never take your eyes off your kids in a pool, especially in big groups of people.

‘Never assume someone else is watching your kid. Thank God it ended up the way it did.’

Mitchell’s warning comes after he caused controversy back in June after sharing a video of his toddler son playing close to a saltwater crocodile.

In the video, which was posted to Instagram but appears to have since been deleted, one of Mitchell’s young children wanders by the shore on Tiwi Island in the Northern Territory, where the family were on holiday.

The video then pans across the sand to the water were a croc looms, just metres away from the boy, who appears to be one-year-old Sunny.

He captioned the footage, ‘On the beach of the retreat’. 

According to Perth Now, Tiwi Land Council’s camping protocols warn visitors about croc attacks. 

‘Crocodiles are common on the Tiwi Islands, you must always assume that saltwater crocodiles are present in any waterway,’ it reads.

‘Don’t become complacent; crocodile danger is real and attacks can be fatal.

‘Saltwater crocodiles can attack people in boats and the smaller the boat, the greater the risk.’

Mitchell and Chloe, who share two sons Arti, three, and Sunny, one, announced their engagement in June. 

After revealing that the little girl was okay, Mitchell issued a stern warning about water safety

Mitch got down on one knee and proposed to the stunning model during their Northern Territory getaway.

A clip shared to social media shows the couple enjoying a drink on a sandy beach before Mitch’s surprise proposal.

The model couldn’t hide her shock and excitement as she said yes.

The couple, who have been together for nine years, immediately shared a passionate kiss and embrace while their son, Arti, looked on.

‘We’re getting married! Special place forever @tiwiislandretreat,’ Chloe captioned the post.
