Impact of Pete Davidson’s Unplanned Pregnancy with Elsie Hewitt on Their Relationship

Pete Davidson and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt excitedly announced that they are expecting their first child together this week.

And while it has since been claimed that the pregnancy was something the couple ‘weren’t planning’ – the SNL alum, 31, and English model, 29, are beyond ‘excited’ to become parents.   

The comedian – who has previously been linked to high profile celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande – first sparked romance rumors with Hewitt only months earlier ago in March. 

A source opened up to Us Weekly about their baby news and stated, ‘Pete and Elsie definitely weren’t planning on starting a family but are over the moon about it. 

‘They are so excited. Pete and Elsie have a really playful relationship, and things are going really well.’ 

Despite dating for a ‘short amount of time,’ the pregnancy ‘has brought them even closer. It’s a healthy relationship for Pete.’

The insider explained that fatherhood was something he always wanted for his future and that ‘the timing in his life is perfect.’ 

‘He couldn’t have done it a few years ago but is in a very different place in life now,’ the source further said of Pete – who notably got sober last year. 

Davidson and Hewitt have already begun preparing to welcome their little one to the world. 

‘They live together now and are starting to get things ready, which has been very exciting for them to do together.’ 

The actor has talked about his dreams of being a dad in the past – such as when he made an appearance on Kevin Hart’s show Hart To Heart back in 2022. 

‘[I’m] definitely a family guy. My favorite thing ever, which I’ve yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. That’s like my dream,’ Pete expressed at the time. 

He said that being a father would ‘just be so fun’ and added he is ‘so excited for that chapter, so like that’s kinda just what I’m preparing for now. 

‘Just trying to be like, as good of a dude, and develop and get better so that when that happens it’s just easier.’

Earlier this week on Wednesday, Elsie shared an Instagram photo series where she announced the baby news. 

She captioned the carousel of snaps to her 1 million followers with, ‘welp now everyone knows we had sex.’ 

In one image, the couple could be seen cozying up together as Davidson rested his hand on her stomach. 

Hewitt additionally included an ultrasound of their baby and other pictures showed the lovebirds celebrating the pregnancy. 

The model donned a white cropped top as well as matching sweatpants while the comedian sported a white sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. 

They paused for pictures outside while each sporting pink and blue boxers underneath their ensembles. 

Pete and Elsie could be seen sweetly embracing in one snap and also wore skincare face masks in another while pampering themselves. 

The couple are set to welcome their baby this winter and are said to be ‘thrilled’ to become parents, family sources told TMZ.

Davidson has mostly kept his relationship with Hewitt, an English model, out of the spotlight since going public in March 2025.

However, the couple made a rare exception last month as Hewitt shared photos of them celebrating Fourth Of July together.

In May the pair were united at the Endometriosis Foundation of America event in NYC – where Hewitt told DailyMail.com she underwent surgery to treat endometriosis last year.

‘I feel so much better it’s actually insane,’ she said before gushing about how Pete takes ‘very good’ care of her. ‘He has all the heating pads, all the water bottles ready to go, feeds me. It’s very sweet.’

Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, potentially causing severe pain in the pelvis and making it difficult to conceive.

Davidson’s baby joy comes almost 24 years since his father Scott was killed aged 33 in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Pete was seven years old.

Scott worked as a firefighter in New York City and was responding to the less well-known Marriott World Trade Center, a 22-story hotel nestled between the two enormous towers that was also known as World Trade Center 3.

A source claimed that the pair were balancing time between Davidson’s home in upstate New York and a Brooklyn brownstone the couple is renting.

News of the fresh romance emerged in March, with insiders describing Hewitt as a ‘non-celebrity’ and unlike ‘anybody else he’s ever dated,’ per Page Six.

The outlet added that Davidson is ‘very happy’ and that his new lady ‘respects Pete and his desire for privacy.’

Despite his preference to stay out of the limelight, Hewitt went Instagram official with her beau in late March.

Their relationship went public that month when they were spotted at a luxury beachfront hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. They packed on the PDA while swimming and lounging in the sun.

Davidson’s relationship with Hewitt comes after his split with Madelyn Cline last year.

His previous high-profile relationships include his whirlwind engagement to Ariana Grande as well as flings with Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, and Kaia Gerber.

He famously struck up a romance with Kim Kardashian after the two crossed paths when she was a guest star on Saturday Night Live in October 2021. Their time together came to an end in August 2022.

Pete then briefly dated supermodel Emily Ratajkowski and started a relationship with his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star Chase Sui Wonders in 2023.
