Imogen Poots has briefly addressed her breakup from James Norton after he admitted their split ‘wasn’t his choice’.
The former couple began dating in 2017 before getting engaged in 2022.
However, in a shock to fans, the pair called off their engagement the following year and went their separate ways.
James previously addressed their breakup, admitting it was not his decision, but one that brought ‘the most monumental change’.
The Happy Valley actor said earlier this year:Â ‘It happened in a very abrupt way, and it happened kind of to me, and I thought that I was on a path.
‘I was about to have kids, about to get married, all that kind of stuff, and my life just turned around, completely changed direction.’Â

Now, Imogen has spoken about their split in a new interview for Tatler magazine, though kept stern-lipped on the matter.
She said:Â ‘It’s always so absurd. No one on the outside sees what you share with another person.’
Addressing the media and fan interest in her life, she added: ‘I always think back to when Meryl Streep was dating in her twenties.
There’s plenty of pictures of her at premieres, but only one or two of her on the street. It was such a different time.’Â
When quizzed if she was seeing anybody presently, Imogen stayed tight-lipped, simply saying: ‘Not necessarily’.

In one shot, the Need For Need star pale yellow leather jacket unzipped, revealing her brown bra underneath.
She paired the racy look with a cream skirt and black pointed heel boots.Â

Another look saw Imogen show off her incredible figure as she posed for a close-up shot in a shoulderless black gown that featured a plunging neckline.
Daily Mail previously told how Imogen did not want her split from James becoming public.

Their romance began in December 2017 a few months after James split from Irish singer and actress Jessie Buckley, 34 – who he was with for two years.
They got together after meeting during a run of the play Belleville at the Donmar Warehouse in 2017.
In 2020, Imogen – who starred in The Father with Anthony Hopkins – moved into James’s London pad, before setting up home together.
