Danielle Harold was reportedly almost forced to quit I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! due to a secret health scare.
The EastEnders actress, 31, lasted more than two weeks in the jungle before she was the fifth campmate to be eliminated in the public vote on Thursday.
However, it has been claimed that Danielle almost had to quit the ITV show early after a doctor was called in to treat her for an infection.
Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears both quit the show early on medical grounds, but Danielle was said to have declined to do the same.
Danielle, best known for playing Lola Pearce in EastEnders, reportedly lost nearly a stone as she battled a ‘nasty’ infection off-camera.

According to The Sun, Danielle told a friend: ‘I felt wiped out, so rough and unwell, but I was determined to stay in there, I hadn’t gone all that way for it to end like that.’
A source claimed that Danielle didn’t want to have to leave the show to go to hospital and ‘powered through’, despite being ‘very unwell’.
They told the publication: ‘Danielle fell ill at the start of the show and developed a really nasty infection which made her very unwell.
‘It was all kept off camera and she just kept powering through, Danielle was seen by the camp doctor several times.’
Danielle reportedly ‘really struggled’ for a few days in her first week in the Australian jungle due to her bout of illness but medics monitored her until she improved.
MailOnline has contacted Danielle’s representatives for comment. ITV declined to comment.
It comes after Danielle revealed that she was awkwardly snubbed by one of her campmates before they appeared on the show together.
In an Instagram clip shared after her elimination, Danielle confessed that Sam Thompson failed to follow her on social media before she moved into the camp.

Danielle confessed that Sam Thompson failed to follow her on social media before she moved into the camp. Despite the blunder, the pair formed a very close friendship on the show
Asked about her immediate plans after leaving the jungle, Danielle said: ‘The first person that I’m going to follow on social media is Tony Bellew. Tony is the best guy ever! He’s just amazing.’
She went on: ‘By the way I already follow Sam – he doesn’t follow me back though!’ but the user who was running Sam’s account in his absence was quick to reply: ‘Consider it done.’
Despite the awkward blunder, Danielle and Sam formed a very close bond during their time in the jungle together and began to call each other ‘brother’ and ‘sister’.
Danielle has also tipped Sam to be crowned King Of The Jungle in Sunday’s final: ‘He’s the most amazing guy, my best mate in there and we just had the absolute best time. We did not stop laughing the whole way.’
All of the eliminated celebrities so far have backed Sam Thompson to win the 2023 series as he has won campmates and fans alike over with his enthusiasm and bubbly personality.
