Sharon went on to say that she hasn’t watched the star on Strictly Come Dancing and has no plans to.
She explained she had yet to meet the reality star and hadn’t been keeping up with his TV appearances.
She said: ‘I never watch Strictly. I’ve never had interest in it. It’s not a show I’ve ever watched, so I’m not going to start now.’
Maura’s mother added that she was surprised by her daughter’s confession on the reality show because she believed she was single, adding that since Maura was young she was bound to go on dates and she was happy for her.
‘I suppose being single, she’s a young woman, she’s going to date. She obviously doesn’t want anything serious yet, so I don’t know,’ she said.
Sharon explained that she was proud of Maura’s fiery attitude and had always brought her children up to stand up for themselves.
She also thought it was good that her daughter spoke her mind and raised issues she had with people but was glad to see her more vulnerable side coming out during her time Down Under.
She added that she has been enjoying watching Maura bond with other campmates and the highlight of the shoe so far has been the ‘banter’ between Maura and Rev Richard Coles.
