I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been forced to apologise after accidentally liking an ‘offensive’ Instagram comment about one of this year’s contestants.
The apology, posted on the show’s social media platforms, said the comment had used ‘unacceptable language’ and apologised for any ‘offence’ caused.
The comment, left by a viewer underneath a post celebrating Sam Thompson opening up about his ADHD to Josie Gibson and Marvin Humes, was about Nella Rose.
The YouTuber, 26, has caused a stir during her time in camp, frequently making headlines for her outspoken nature.
The statement, posted on the show’s social media platforms, read: ‘Yesterday we accidentally liked a comment on Instagram while scrolling down through viewer comments.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been forced to apologise after accidentally liking an ‘offensive’ Instagram comment

The comment referred to 2023 contestant Nella Rose, who has been a divisive figure on this year’s show
‘The post in question contained unacceptable language about one of our campmates and we apologise for the mistake made and any offence caused.
‘We seek to champion all our campmates and would always urge our audience to be kind when commenting on social media.’
The apology post on Instagram has now received 88,000 likes.
The problematic comment read: ‘You know why, because Josie is a genuine person, Nelly [redacted by MailOnline due to body-shaming content] is just after publicity whatever.’
Nella has proven a divisive figure in camp, and the apology also received mixed responses.
One said: ‘A lot of these comments are beyond hateful. People need to remember it’s a TV show’
One wrote underneath the post: ‘Why the unnecessary statement? You’re drawing attention to an issue nobody knew had happened.’
Nella’s row with First Dates’s Fred Sirieix – now referred to as ‘Dadgate’ – prompted 861 complaints to watchdog Ofcom.

The apology said that the show’s social media account had ‘accidentally’ liked the problematic comment (above)
Fred had joked to Nella that he is ‘old enough to her her father’ – hours after Nella opened up to campmates about losing both of her parents.
Nella exploded at Fred, refusing to eat the food he had cooked after the seemingly innocent comment.
Nella has also rowed with Nigel Farage about cultural appropriation and Brexit, telling him that ‘black people hate you’.
But her family are convinced that her ‘Congolese spirit’ will see her ultimately win the show.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, a relative said: ‘All of Nella’s siblings and other members of her family, wherever they are in the world, are watching her in the jungle – and praying that she wins.
‘We are very proud of her achievements, it’s amazing what she’s done. She is showing the fighting spirit of the Congolese people and we are all with her.’
Arguing in support of Nella Rose, younger audiences tend to draw attention to the fact that the YouTube star is grieving, having lost both of her parents in the last seven years.
Despite Nella being the bookies’ favourite to leave the show first, jockey Frankie Dettori received the fewest votes from the public and was the first to leave camp on Sunday night.

It comes after I’m A Celeb fans slammed Moonpig for a ‘tasteless’ card appearing to mock Nella.
Cards featuring Nella appeared on the website of personalised greeting card company Moonpig – displaying the social media star in her jungle garb.
But it was quickly met with backlash and was branded ‘weird’ and ‘tasteless’ by viewers.
The card features a cartoon drawing of Nella looking horrified, along with the quote ‘I’m really offended that it’s your birthday’.
The fallout left viewers divided as many felt Fred hadn’t done anything wrong – but fans have leapt to her defence as the card went up for sale.
One wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘This is so disappointing from Moonpig. You can think Nella overreacted/misunderstood Fred but absolutely no need to mock how she processes grief for a cheap laugh.

Another said: ‘This is SO weird and tastless.’
A third said: ‘I’m not a fan of Nella but this is full on wrong and Moonpig should know better ffs!!’
However, others merely saw the card as a funny joke. One said: ‘They’re not mocking her trauma, they’re mocking the fact she was offended by a simple figure of speech. It’s really not that deep.’
Moonpig now seem to have deleted the card from their website. MailOnline contacted Moonpig for comment at the time.
