McFly’s Danny Jones has shared his ‘insecurities’ have left him fearing for his upcoming I’m A Celebrity stint and the tattoo he would get if he won.
The musician, 38, said: ‘I can’t even fathom what it would feel like to win the jungle. I think why it would probably mean so much is that, even though I may look super confident, we have insecurities.
‘I can’t hide behind… see, everything I’ve done in the past, I feel like I’m protected if I’ve got my guitar, or if I’m singing.
‘I’ve always got something to kind of not hide behind, but to protect me and I’m more comfortable singing than I am talking.’
Known for being part of a band, he continued: ‘I’ve never been out there as just myself in such a vulnerable state.
‘And I think just having the approval of the British public and to say “oh, you actually do like me or whatever,” it’s kind of nice to know that, and I think that would be just the cherry on top.’
McFly’s Danny Jones has revealed he is battling his own insecurities ahead of I’m A Celeb stint as he admitted he’s never been in the public eye on his own in ‘such a vulnerable state’
The musician, 38, said: ‘I can’t even fathom what it would feel like to win the jungle. I think why it would probably mean so much is that, even though I may look super confident, we have insecurities’
The star then promised: ‘If I won it, I’d definitely, 100 per cent get a brand new tattoo of the crown and the stick somewhere on my body to represent it. Absolutely would.’
Speaking about bringing his guitar into the jungle, he said: ‘I would so love it to be in the camp. That’s been my only sanity. My morning meditation is looking out of the window and playing my guitar, and it’s keeping me sane.’
Danny’s wife Georgia and their son Cooper, six, are both due to fly out to Australia in support of the star, meanwhile his bandmate, Dougie Poynter, who previously won the show back in 2011, shared his words of advice as he joked: ‘Don’t be a d**k.’
Danny follows a long line of McBusted associates to enter the jungle, all of whom have won, such as Busted’s Matt Willis in 2006, Dougie in 2011 and Tom Fletcher’s wife, Giovanna, in 2020.
The frontman vowed if he won King of the Jungle, he would get a crown and stick tattooed on himself to mark the prestigious occasion.
Speaking about the ‘pressure’ on him to keep the tradition, Danny said: ‘I don’t know how I feel about it.
‘I’m not really… I mean, Dougie, he was like, his flat is like the jungle like his apartment is literally like the jungle. So he was like Mr. Comfortable and Matt Willis is a very, very hard man.
‘Whereas me, you know, I’m just here for a laugh, and I don’t know what’s going to happen.

‘But I’m definitely here to… I just thought there’s no better time because I think when, as we get older, we get safer and safer and we don’t push ourselves or go out of our comfort zones as much.’
When asked if he wouldn’t hear the end of it from the Busted lads if he doesn’t win, Danny said: ‘Yeah, especially next year on the versus tour.
‘I mean, it’d be great if we could have two kings in McFly, and then we can really go to town.
‘But, you know, I’ve got, I’ve got The Masked Singer under my belt, I’ve got The Voice under my belt – I’m going for the Treble. I’m going for the Pep Guardiola!’
