Hugh Jackman has given an insight into his skincare routine as he shared the reality of being 55 years old.
The Australian actor, 55, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a selfie of himself indulging in some self-care as revealed the secrets to his ageless looks.
In the snap, Hugh flashed a smile as he sported a pair of gold hydrating under eye masks in a luxury touch to his relaxing skincare regime.
He joked about the reality of being a Hollywood star at the age of 55 in a caption as he typed alongside the post: ‘This is 55.’
His post prompted confusion with fans as many flocked to the comments to wish him a happy birthday, despite the fact he actually turned 55 on October 12, 2023.
Just hours earlier, Hugh also added to his long-running ‘rivalry’ with Ryan Reynolds as he took a cheeky swipe at his Marvel co-star in another post.
The Hollywood star posted a photograph of American actor Ryan, 47, along with a string of insults as he continued their online war of words.
The Deadpool & Wolverine co-stars have a history of taking shots and poking fun at each other online in a jokey but savage rivalry, when in reality they are close friends.

In his latest dig, Hugh wrote some choice words alongside a picture of Ryan wearing white vest top and navy trousers while staring and pointing at the camera.
Two red and yellow purses sat on the table behind him, with the colours referencing Ryan’s famous Deadpool costume and Hugh’s yellow Wolverine outfit.
In an accompanying caption, Hugh quipped: ”You want me to put this away?’ – Ryan Reynolds, co-star, mouth breather, a**hole.’
Hitting back at the swipe, Ryan replied in the comments section: ‘This photo is from my private collection. How dare you?’
Ryan’s wife Blake Lively also got involved in the exchange as she hilariously left a comment about her husband’s very muscular frame in the photograph.

‘My thirst has been trapped,’ she cheekily penned in a comment which quickly racked up more than 4,200 likes.
Their jokey rivalry began back more than a decade ago, during Ryan’s marriage to his first wife Scarlett Johansson, from 2008 until 2011.
Hugh told Daily Beast: ‘It’s gone back so long now… God, this is a classic sign where your feud has gone too long, where you don’t even know why or how it started!’
‘I met him back on Wolverine, and I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett.
‘Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, “Hey, you better be on your best behaviour here, pal, because I’m watching”, and we started ribbing each other that way.’
Known for their banter, Ryan’s wife Blake Lively also got involved in the joke as she hilariously left a comment about her husband’s muscular frame, writing: ‘My thirst has been trapped’
Things then ‘escalated’ when Ryan took on the role of Deadpool, proving to be a rival to Hugh’s beloved portrayal of Wolverine, with their characters meeting in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).
Since then, the pair have continued to poke fun and troll each other on social media, never shying away from an opportunity to hilariously prank the other.
‘There’s no doubt it’s a lot of fun because let’s face it, it’s one of the great – it should be an Olympic sport – trolling Ryan Reynolds,’ Hugh joked.
‘I’m pretty sure I’ll be out there for the gold, but I think everyone would enjoy the sport. I think every kid should do it.’
They are soon set to bring their friendly rivalry to the big screen, starring opposite each other in the upcoming Marvel epic Deadpool & Wolverine.
Hugh has played Wolverine ever since 2000’s X-Men and his journey came to a close in the 2017 movie Logan, which was set in 2029 where mutants are nearly extinct.

However, Hugh is now reprising his role for the upcoming release, which will not alter the events of Logan or his emotional death as it occurs in a different timeline.
‘Because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines, now we can go back because it’s “science”,’ Hugh told The Jess Cagle Show in 2022.
‘So I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline which was important to me and I think probably to the fans.’
Deadpool & Wolverine is slated for release on July 26 and will see the two superheroes joining forces in an action-packed spectacular.
The trailer has hinted at a rivalry between the pair as they are shown fighting one another in a tense stand-off before reluctantly joining forces in a comedic pairing.
