Hugh Jackman’s plans for Bondi penthouse revealed following split from Deborra-Lee Furness

It appears that Hugh Jackman isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to Bondi just yet.

Two years after his split from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, 70, the Song Sung Blue actor, 57, has shown no sign of offloading his luxury Bondi penthouse, worth a reported $15million.

According to sources, Hugh is planning to hang on to the 125-square-metre property he bought in 2015 for $5.9million, as his permanent Australian base.

‘Why would he ever sell it?’ one insider asked the Wentworth Courier. ‘It’s the best spot in Bondi Beach.’

The luxury property’s idyllic ocean views would certainly provide the perfect backdrop for Hugh to impress girlfriend Sutton Foster, 50, with the Australian landscape.

The property was previously listed for permanent rent, at $10,000 per week until February 2022.

It was also briefly listed for short-term rental in 2024 at $2,400 per night, but now appears to have been taken off the market, further suggesting that Hugh plans to make more use of the property in 2026.

The decision to secure the plush base at Bondi was hardly surprising, as the Wolverine star is often spotted at the beach when visiting his home country.

The three-bedroom property oozes Hollywood-standard luxury, complete with glorious, panoramic ocean views and luxury finishes throughout.

The spacious, open-plan living and dining area features a state-of-the-art kitchen and superior European oak timber floors.

The generous balcony space also offers seamless indoor and outdoor living, perfect for a hot and breezy Bondi afternoon.

Furthermore, the roomy penthouse is well-suited for overnight guests as it contains a pair of queen bedrooms with custom built-in robes.

The master bedroom features an ensuite with Minerva limestone, built-in wardrobes and Juliet balconies.

Meanwhile, the building also features all the mod cons, including secure parking for two cars, air conditioning and direct lift access.

Hugh retained the keys to the Bondi property in the wake of his divorce from Deborra-Lee, which was finalised in June 2025.

As part of the settlement, the former couple listed their luxe apartment in New York’s West Village for AUD$60million (US$39million) that same month.

The  property, which is still on the market, was purchased in 2008 for AUD$32million (US$21million).

Deborra-Lee also reportedly bought out Hugh’s stake in their other luxury New York abode – an AUD$35million (US$24million) three-bedroom Manhattan penthouse.

The property, which the couple purchased together back in 2022 for AUD$31.6million (US$21.12 million), had not been listed for sale but underwent a property transfer.

Hugh and Deborra-Lee, who had been married since 1996, announced their separation in 2023 after 27 years of marriage.

Though the pair have not publicly revealed the reasons behind their separation, rumours have run rampant as fans speculated that Hugh growing close to his fellow Broadway co-star Sutton Foster in The Music Man play was a factor in their split.

In May, Deborra-Lee alluded to Hugh’s alleged affair with his now-girlfriend as she broke her silence about his ‘betrayal’ since legally filing for divorce.

‘My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,’ she wrote in a statement shared exclusively with DailyMail.com.

‘It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.’

She continued: ‘This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.’

Meanwhile, Hugh, who hasn’t been seen Down Under since December 2024, was most recently spotted on a romantic getaway with Sutton in Costa Rica.
