Rita Ora has been slammed as ‘out of touch’ for her most recent bizarre travel move.
The popstar, 34, posted a video to TikTok a few weeks ago, revealing her decision to spontaneously book a trip to Australia during a ‘drunken’ night—and fans weren’t having it.
‘Pov: Last night I drunkly [sic] suggested we go to Australia in the morning,’ the Body On Me hitmaker captioned an image of herself.
She added of her location: ‘Now I’m in Sydney.’
Fans were quick to criticise the video in the comments section, calling the popstar out for being insensitive about her expensive, last-minute travel plans during a cost of living crisis.
‘I drunkly said “I’m going to order some food” then my card declined and I fell asleep and woke up in my own bed,’ one person sarcastically wrote.

‘Can’t relate because I’m a poor,’ another chimed in.
One person called her out with two harsh words: ‘Rich privilege.’
‘This makes me feel broke,’ another added.
One person told the singer to ‘read the room’, while another wrote: ‘So out of touch.’
Rita has spent her fair share of time in the Land Down Under, filling out the judging panel on two seasons of The Voice Australia between 2021 and 2023.
Her co-founder and friend Anna Lahey, who she started hair-care brand Typebea with, is also based in Sydney, making the city a regular spot for talking business.
Rita is married to New Zealand-born director Taika Waititi and the couple have a home in the City of Sails, making Sydney a hop, skip and jump away from their Auckland abode.
Her husband also finds himself in Australia a lot for various filming projects, particularly Marvel blockbusters.
