Gavin and Stacey officially drew to a close on Wednesday evening after the BBC aired a special final documentary for the much loved sitcom.
The finale episode raked in a whopping 12.5 million viewers and was the most watched show on Christmas Day with fans tuning in to find out the end to Nessa and Smithy’s love story.
However, while it might be officially over, there is luckily another way fans can get their Gavin and Stacey fix.
Set in the Rhondda Valleys in the fictional Welsh town of Pontyberry, comedy drama Stella also stars Ruth Jones as she plays the titular character who is struggling as a mother of three.
Created by Ruth and David Peet, the show spanned six series from 2012 to 2017 as it followed Stella’s life as she earned a living doing the laundry and ironing for the locals.
And the series also stars some more familiar faces including cameos from James Corden (Smithy), Melanie Walters (Gwen) and even Steffan Rhodri (Dave Coaches).

James guest stars in series one as a Bobby’s (Aled Pugh) new boyfriend Steve as the pair prepare to move to Bristol together.
Meanwhile Steffan, 57, has been seen in the role of Leon in an unearthed episode of the Sky series.
Steffan’s character is married to Oliver Ryan’s character Darren and the couple share a son called Jacob, who has been bullying a boy at school by calling him gay.
Dave was known for being engaged to writer and actor Ruth Jones’s character Nessa – and Steffan even cast doubt on the show’s finale when he was spotted filming for the special earlier in the year.
But in a huge plot twist, fans were left stunned on Christmas Day as it was revealed that Dave’s appearance was because he had been secretly dating Stacey’s mother Gwen.
And Gwen (Melanie Walters) also stars in the series as Stella’s midwife in series two.
While Stella presumes she is three months pregnant, the mother-of-three hasn’t actually done a test and it is Melanie’s character who breaks the news to her at the first scan that she isn’t actually pregnant.
Stella and her boyfriend Sean look heartbroken as the episode ends with the shocking news.

It comes after Ruth and James revealed the one big reason why Gavin & Stacey could never return for more episodes.
Speaking on the documentary on New Year’s Day James said: ‘Probably from the first Christmas special that we did, when Dave proposes and Smithy says, ‘Don’t marry him’, from that minute on it felt like they had to end together.
‘And that’s what he says in this last scene, ‘I know it’s messy and not perfect, but that’s because we’re messy and not perfect’.’
Ruth then added: ‘When Smithy and Nessa got together, that really is the end, because we can never see them actually together.
‘Seeing Smithy put the bins out, it just won’t work.’
