HBO’s House of the Dragons finally found itself on top of the streaming charts for the first time, during the week of July 8-14, a month before the Series 2 finale aired.
The HBO prequel series to Game of Thrones amassed a whopping 1.27 billion viewing minutes for that week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The numbers come in after Nielsen reported that the July 1-7 week was the largest viewership ever in streaming history with over 313 billion viewing minutes.
It was also the first time since streaming tracking began that the top 10 overall titles each eclipsed 1 billion viewing minutes.
The July 8-14 week marked a bit of a dip, with the top two titles above House of the Dragon last week – Netflix’s Suits and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F – dropping significantly, allowing House of the Dragon to take the crown.
