Kelly Brook has revealed she learnt a lot about her husband Jeremy Parisi after the pair had the ‘honeymoon from hell’ two years after tying the knot in Italy.
The model, 44, explained that she and her model husband, 39, didn’t have a honeymoon when they first got married, so they jumped at the chance to take part in BBC’s Race Across the World.
In an interview with Closer magazine, the media personality described jetting off to South America as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
But Kelly admitted that it wasn’t plain sailing and even described the experience as hellish.
She told the magazine: ‘We hadn’t had a honeymoon and I said to Jeremy we should consider this as a fun alternative, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. At times, it was the honeymoon from hell – at other times it was absolutely glorious. It’s got to be the most memorable honeymoon ever.’

Kelly also revealed that she learnt a lot about her husband of two years, explaining that the show really brought out his competitive streak.
She said: ‘I didn’t realise how competitive he was, like, crazy competitive. I’m much more about the experience. I think I got on his nerves because he was full steam ahead.
‘If Jeremy was doing the race alone, he’d have finished it in a week. I was kind of slowing him down a little bit and I was like, let’s have a Brazilian barbecue one day or let’s go to the beach.’
And while the couple finally managed to celebrate their marriage with a honeymoon together, the Heart Radio DJ said she did not enjoy the lack of luxury, and described running around Chile and Brazil as exhausting.
Kelly said she would much rather have been sipping on cocktails on the beach rather than enduring the intense heat and dodging giant crabs while also trying to navigate racing through across the continent on a budget of just £1,100 each.
The hit BBC show saw Kelly and her husband compete against fellow celebrity DJ Scott Mills and his husband Sam, reality star Jeff Brazier and son Freddy, and Ted Lasso star Kola Bokkini and his cousin Mary Ellen.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Kelly revealed that she was glad to have experienced them with Jeremy.
The model, who previously dated Hollywood actor Jason Statham and rugby stars Danny Cipriani and Thom Evans, said the experience tested their relationship and opened their eyes to their marriage dynamic.
She said: ‘I was grumpy at times – every night we didn’t know where we would be sleeping – but I think he was surprised how strong I was. At some points, I was carrying both of our bags.’

The BAFTA award-winning show, from producers Studio Lambert, will return at 9pm on Wednesday 14th August on BBC One and iPlayer.
The revelation comes after the presenter and her husband enjoyed a romantic holiday to Greece earlier this month.
The pair looked more loved-up than ever in Instagram snaps posted on Monday.
Kelly looked incredible as she showed off her amazing curves in a pink patterned bikini as she wrapped her arm around her Italian hunk husband Jeremy.
The former glamour model kept cool by tying her long brunette tresses in a bun and shielded from the sun behind a pair of stylish pink framed sunglasses.
Meanwhile shirtless Jeremy displayed his muscular physique in a pair of grey swimming shorts and sunglasses.
In a second snap during the holiday, Kelly looked sensational in a white and black striped bikini as she relaxed on a beach.
The actress flashed her gorgeous smile as she accessorised the daytime ensemble with a woven sun hat and a beaded necklace.

Kelly revealed she had previously been to the Greek Island Paros with her ‘mother and late father’ and she is happy to return with husband Jeremy.
She penned: ’20 Years ago I came to Paros and it changed my life forever. That Summer changed what I wanted from life and slowed everything down and I reconnected with nature the sea and myself.
‘I love this Island and it was so amazing to finally return with my now husband. It’s still as beautiful as I remember and my life now is even more beautiful!
‘I am grateful to have spent time here with my mother and late father. It holds so many precious memories and it was so nice to return with Jeremy and show him my favourite place in the world.
‘Also nice that it finally has hotels as we always stayed in the homes of locals. 20 years has seen many changes and I think for the better. Paros is always a good idea’.
Jeremey commented on the post with a number of red heart emojis.
Kelly’s return to a life of luxury is in stark contrast to her experience on BBC’s Celebrity Race Across the World which saw her have to ditch her phone and use public transport.
Kelly said going phone free and living like a local alongside her husband was the highlight of her trip.
She also shared how she overcome being a ‘diva’ and had to completely go out her comfort zone – even if she had to wear ‘unflattering’ clothing, she recalled.
Kelly said: ‘This show came at the right time; I was confident enough to be a bit more open about who I am.
