Home and Away’s Luke Jacobz Welcomes Second Child with Wife Raychel: ‘We Are All So in Love’

Luke Jacobz was all smiles this week, when he announced the arrival of his second child with wife Raychel.

The couple were left stunned to discover they had conceived naturally, after initially turning to IVF to fall pregnant with their first daughter, Maisie.

Monday marked the big day, as Luke and Raychel welcomed a baby boy to their growing brood

Luke took to Instagram to share the joyous news, posting a series of sweet images capturing the newborn’s first few hours.

Photos showed Luke very much in doting dad mode, proudly beaming as he cradled his son in his arms.

Another adorable photo showed daughter Maisie bonding with her baby brother.

The excitement was palpable on Luke’s face in a third image that showed him kneeling next to Raychel, who was cradling bub on her chest.

Captioning the images, Luke revealed his son’s name and its sweet family connection.

On Monday, our little family of three, grew a little bigger and we are all so in love already. Welcome my baby boy John James Scott,’ he wrote.

‘We named him after my Dad, Raychel’s Dad and uncle. Named after the men who helped shape both our lives so their legacy can live on.’

Continuing, Luke paid tribute to his wife for the resilience she displayed during her pregnancy.

‘Raychel, your bravery, love, true grit and determination to give our Maisie a best friend for life is nothing short of incredible,’ he gushed.

‘I saw such strength in you that I never thought possible, I love you with my heart and my soul and promise to teach our boy to be kind, caring, protective and loving.

‘He will carry the legacy of the great men he is named after.’

‘Little Johnny, JJ… I am so proud to be your Dad, you and I will have the most wonderful adventure together, we are going to love and support your mum and sister, because I know they love you so much already,’ he wrote.

‘I love you Raychel, thank you for giving me the honour to be your babies’ Dad.’

Speaking to Woman’s Day in June about the pregnancy, Luke said that he was ‘over the moon’ that he and Raychel had been able to conceive naturally.

‘We’re having a boy! We are just over the moon,’ he told the publication.

‘That we were actually able to fall naturally with number two – I jumped up and down and lost my mind.’

Luke and Raychel, who met in 2017, began trying for a baby the following year but soon found themselves on an emotional rollercoaster.

Despite being given the all-clear medically, they struggled to conceive and eventually turned to IVF via Adora Fertility.

Their journey was anything but smooth – involving multiple rounds of egg retrievals, repeated embryo transfers, and three devastating early miscarriages.

With just one embryo left, the couple made the difficult decision to undergo one final transfer before their wedding, which had been delayed twice due to COVID-19.

Incredibly, the transfer worked, and Raychel walked down the aisle four months pregnant.

‘We weren’t expecting that, so we just lost our minds,’ Luke said. ‘We were so close to not trying anymore because it was just so hard.’
