Hollywood stars Jack Black and Paul Rudd are currently in Queensland filming a reboot of the 1997 horror movie Anaconda.
And the two co-stars have already shared that the new production will be a departure from the original shocker which starred Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube and Jon Voight.
Set in the Amazon, the first film centred on a group of filmmakers who encounter a giant anaconda.
Taking to social media with their own cheeky trailer, the pair of funnymen gave fans a taste of what they can look forward to.
Black and Rudd, both 55, appear to be holding back laughter throughout the short clip which the School of Rock says was ‘made on his phone’.
After announcing their starring roles in the new blockbuster, Black joked about the film’s title, saying, ‘It might “The Anaconda”…Whatever, there’s gonna be a big f***ing snake and it’s gonna rip.’

Rudd then added: ‘You wanna get scared ? You wanna laugh? You wanna celebrate with your friends? Or maybe you’re sad and have nobody, but just wanna forget about that? It’s coming out on Christmas in 2025.’
During the trailer the pair confirmed that the Anaconda reboot is set to hit cinemas by Christmas 2025.
Black finishes the trailer, which appears to be filmed in a studio, by turning to his co-star and asking, ‘Dude have you seen the snake? It’s in that room right there. They’re about to feed it a donkey. Come on.’
The new film will inject $40 million into the local economy and create more than 300 jobs reported industry magazine Inside Film on Monday.
Directed by US filmmaker Tom Gormican, the Anaconda reboot is produced by Sony and received funding from the state government via Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.
The publication also reported that the production also received a 30 per cent tax rebate through the federal governments Location Offset Subsidy, which aims to attract large productions to Australia.
The rain forests of Queensland will ‘stand in’ for the films setting which is the Amazon jungle.
Queensland has managed to attract of high profile productions to the state, including Bluey, produced by Disney.
According to Variety , the plot centres around ‘a group of friends who are facing mid-life crises and set off to remake their favorite movie from their youth’
Meanwhile, a big screen adaptation of the 80s cartoon Voltron is already underway on the Gold Coast.
The original horror-thriller was a box office success, even though it failed to impress critics, and costarred Owen Wilson, Eric Stoltz, Ice Cube and Jon Voight.
It even led to a franchise which spawned several sequels, including a 2004 theatrical installment with Morris Chestnut, and several straight-to-video editions that starred the likes of David Hasselhoff and Robert Englund.
Early reports are describing the reboot a ‘reimagining’ of the original concept rather than a sequel or remake, with the new version more along the lines of the 2018 shark movie The Meg.
