After suffering a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce sized setback earlier this year, Taronga Zoo has reclaimed its Hollywood tourist hotspot crown thanks to a pair of visiting ’90s stars.
Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar have been spotted in Sydney as the actor gears up to reprise one of his most famous roles.
The Hollywood power couple have made a very low-key arrival in Australia for Freddie to film the sequel to ’90s cult classic I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Freddie, 48, starred in the cult horror film in 1997, when he was 21-years-old, before going on to film its sequel the following year alongside Sarah, 47, who he would later marry.
On Tuesday, the American actors paid a visit to Taronga Zoo and Sea Life Aquarium to get up close and personal with some Australian locals.
Freddie appeared almost as relaxed as his new ‘homie’, a sleeping koala who he posed alongside for a quick selfie, in which the ’90s heartthrob was almost unrecognisable.

While the She’s All That and Scooby Doo star is still in shape, without his famous mop of spiked-up black hair the star might have passed by unnoticed if it weren’t for his glamorous wife.
The actor still sports his distinctive sideburns, only now with a salt-and-pepper twist, and dressed in a simple pair of black pants and red T-shirt as he played tourist in the Harbor City.
Freddie had long been rumoured to be reprising his role as Ray Bronson in the reboot of 1997 horror flick, I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Sarah officially confirmed her husband’s involvement last month and they arrived in Sydney for the start of filming in recent days.
Sarah also starred in the popular original but her character Helen Shivers was killed off, so she will not be appearing in the reprise

Sarah wore an unassuming pair of blue jeans and a black singlet and cardigan, but with her hair swept back into a bun, Australian Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans were quick to clock her presence.
In dozens of videos and photos shared to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, the Cruel Intentions actress wrote that she ‘made some new friends’ during her trip to the zoo.

Buffy fans were quick to point out how a game of tug-of-war between Sarah and a Tasmanian devil that she filmed resembled an early episode of the iconic series that featured a hyena.
Sarah also got down on the ground so that she could lie on her stomach and pat a seal at the Sea Life aquarium.
She also marvelled at the penguins, sharks, and spiders in the collection of photos that she shared to social media.
‘You are the definition of AGING LIKE FINE WINE,’ one fan commented on her post.
Freddie and Sarah met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, but only began dating three years later, and are now one of Hollywood’s biggest success stories.
Although she won’t star in the series, Sarah will be on set to support Freddie and her best friend Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who will be directing.
‘We joke that I have an unofficial job, which is I am continuity,’ she told People last month.
‘So I’m always the one telling her: ”Well, that would happen, or that wouldn’t happen with those characters,” so I do have kind of an unofficial job title.’
The Hollywood couple will reportedly be staying in a private home in Sydney until Christmas, when they will return to the United States after wrapping up filming.

The couple and their children arrived in Australia last week and celebrated Thanksgiving Down Under.
Sarah shared some rare family photos from their time in Sydney, writing, ‘Thanksgiving looks a little different this year. Yet one thing doesn’t change, I’m still extremely grateful,’
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star added a cheeky, ‘Also since I’m basically in the future…. The Black Friday sales are [fire].’
During their family time, Sarah and her son, Rocky, 12, also enjoyed a climb on the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge.
They were also spotted at Chin Chin restaurant in Surry Hills with their children on Saturday.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is also rumoured to be returning in her role as Julie James for the reboot, but she has not yet been sighted in Australia.
Monster star Nicholas Chavez, Matty Healy’s model fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel and The Summer I Turned Pretty actress Lola Tung are also making up the cast.
Outerbanks’ Madelyn Cline, Bodies Bodies Bodies star Chase Sui Wonders and One Tree Hill icon Austin Nichols are also currently filming for the release in Sydney.
Nicholas, 25, has been spotted out-and-about Down Under in recent days, and surprised fans with a low-key appearance at a Melbourne café at the weekend.
Nicholas, known for his portrayal of killer Lyle Menendez in hit Netflix series Monster, visited the café Little Collins Melbourne.
Details about filming for the hotly-anticipated sequel have been kept tightly under wraps so far, but the film is expected to arrive in cinemas on July 18, 2025.
While tagging her husband and Kaytin in a separate post from the set, Gellar hinted she and Prinze might be spending more time in Australia on another project writing, ‘Scooby Doo 3 coming soon….’
‘OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG it’s happening!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️’ exclaimed actress Adore Delano.
‘Don’t tease us like that! I really want a third one,’ wrote a fan.
