David Joshua-Anthony has reportedly quit Hollyoaks just one year after joining the Channel 4 soap.
The soap star joined the show in 2023 as Andre Clark, Vicky Clark’s estranged brother.
Despite being involved in several major storylines – including his reunion with his sister and father – The Mirror reported he will be leaving over the next few weeks.
He has also removed any mention of the soap from his Instagram bio and Hollyoaks bosses reportedly confirmed the news of his departure to The Sun.
MailOnline has contacted Channel 4’s representatives for comment.
David Joshua-Anthony has reportedly quit Hollyoaks just one year after joining the Channel 4 soap
David is one of many to be leaving the show after producers confirmed a ‘cast cull’ last year as Channel 4 cut the number of weekly episodes.
It comes after Annie Wallace was ‘axed’ from the iconic soap after nine legendary years.
The actress, 59, who played the character Sally St. Claire – will reportedly say her goodbyes next week during the show’s next ‘dramatic’ stunt, according to The Sun.
But despite her sad departure, the door is reportedly not closed indefinitely.
A source told the publication: ‘Annie’s loved her time on Hollyoaks but the time for Sally being a full-time character is at an end.’
‘She will bow out in heroic scenes during the dramatic stunt with the scenes being kept top secret.’
‘It’s not a defined end and the door has been left firmly open for her for a potential return down the line but when the show jumps forward a year, Sally isn’t in the village any longer.’
The actress revealed to The Mirror she was ‘shocked’ that her character was going but claimed she doesn’t want to ‘collapse into sobs’ as that’s ‘not my thing’.

Reflecting on her exit and witnessing her last moments on-screen, she shared with the publication: ‘I’ve watched my final scenes and it was bittersweet. I found it really difficult.’
Earlier this year, Kieron Richardson, 38, who plays Ste Hay, and Jorgie Porter, 36, who plays Theresa McQueen defended the show’s execs who made the decision to cut down the cast.
Kieron said: ‘I think it must be hard as a show writer to think of two and a half hours of TV each week it’s like a full film, whereas now if you shorten that down a little bit you’re going to get the best of the best in terms of quality.’
He added that with the reduction in air time, it would be ‘all killer and no filler’, adding that whoever gets to stay will have a ‘really exciting time’ ahead of them.
Meanwhile, Jorgie added: ‘I say we’re still giving the same drama, effort and energy and stuff so I think we’re safe.’
There are reportedly 20 characters being written out of the show, with Cindy Cunningham actress Stephanie Waring, 46, being one of them.

Stephanie broke down in tears in May as she prepared to say goodbye to the soap after 28 years
Stephanie, who has appeared on the show since 1996, said in May of her exit that she had to take two weeks to ‘process and come to terms with the shock’ and had hoped that her character would ‘survive the exciting revamp’.
She said: ‘I can’t believe I am writing this and I have taken the last two weeks to process and come to terms with the shock of what I am about to say.’
‘I am heartbroken to announce that my character of Cindy has been included in the actors reduction of Hollyoaks.’
‘As an actress obviously I understand there are no jobs for life but with my 28 years on the show I hoped that Cindy would survive the exciting revamp and continue into its new era,’
‘Especially as I began playing her in 1996, making me the only original cast member remaining to be included in the cast cull, which I can only describe as gutting.’
