When Brooklyn Beckham tied the knot with Nicola Peltz in 2022, the entire Ramsay clan were in attendance.
Yet as the longtime family friends watched Brooklyn say I do, little did they know that just a couple of years later the Beckhams would be torn apart by an ugly feud that’s seen Brooklyn and Nicola pitted against David and Victoria.
Now it seems the Ramsays find themselves in a similar situation, with Holly Ramsay at the centre of an explosive fallout between her fiancé Adam Peaty and his family.
The Daily Mail revealed this week that Adam and Holly have banned his mother Caroline Peaty from attending their wedding after an astonishing feud over his bride’s failure to invite her future mother-in-law to her hen party.
However, a source close to the Ramsays points to ‘wider problems’ in the Peaty family which they say lie at the heart of the fallout – and that they are serious.
The insider explains that there have been ‘horrible’ threats of violence against Holly and Adam and that police are involved.
In both circumstances the fallout came as a shock; Brooklyn used to be famously close to his mother and father, while Adam previously described his parents as his ‘heroes’.
Is Holly Ramsay taking tips from the Nicola Peltz playbook? Adam Peaty’s fiancée has sparked ‘Beckxit’ comparisons after getting caught up in Adam’s family feud
Nicola is said to be at the centre of her husband Brooklyn’s ongoing feud with the Beckhams
The Beckhams and the Ramsays have long been friends (Gordon, Tilly and Holly Ramsay pictured at Brooklyn and Nicola’s Palm Beach wedding in 2022)
The move has sparked comparisons online, with one X/Twitter user remarking: ‘Seems the Ramsay’s and the Beckham’s have something else in common apart from friendship [sic]’.
Marriage has proven to be the catalyst for these family fallouts, with tensions between Nicola and her mother-in-law widely reported to have started when the bride didn’t wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress.
Brooklyn then appeared to be absent for family functions he would typically attend and he has not been pictured with his family since Boxing Day last year.
The family feud came to a head in May this year after Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, missed Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations – a split dubbed ‘Beckxit’.
In contrast he has spent plenty of time with Nicola’s family, with the aspiring chef plastering snaps on social media with his billionaire father-in-law Nelson Peltz and siblings-in-law.
Sources told The Sun that Brooklyn saw Nelson and Nicola’s mother Claudia, 70, as a ‘sanctuary’ for him.
‘Claudia is like a second mother to him and, although they are billionaires, Nicola and her brothers had more of a ‘normal’ upbringing because they didn’t have the media intrusion, which Brooklyn has always found so hard’, said the source.
‘He sees them as a kind of sanctuary where he can hide away if he wants to, but that is almost impossible in the Beckham family, they always seem to be on show. There is less pressure on him in a way.’

Adam previously gushed over the Ramsay family, calling them ‘incredible people’ who are ‘very supportive, very welcoming and very loving’
Holly was clutching a ‘Bride’ phone case when she broke cover on Thursday morning for the first time since her feud with fiancé Adam Peaty’s family came to light
Similarly, Adam has been leaning on his future in-laws.
He previously gushed over the Ramsay family, calling them ‘incredible people’ who are ‘very supportive, very welcoming and very loving’.
In particular he spoke fondly of Gordon, who he said ‘inspires me to be successful’.
Adam told The Sunday Times: ‘He’s an incredible energy to be around and an incredible person to have that guidance from.
‘Gordon is a high performer. He worked his way up to the upper echelons of his industry and works in a place where there’s no bulls**t.
‘I take a lot from that and from the professionalism he has every single day with a relentless pursuit.
‘So, when I see that, I’m like, ‘Yeah, why can’t I work like this? Why can’t I do this every single day? Why do I have to be so emotionally engaged with things?”
While Adam invited Gordon on his stag do, an invite was not extended to Adam’s mother to join Holly at her hen party.
An insider close to the Peaty family told the Daily Mail that tensions had already been simmering, claiming it seemed like Adam didn’t feel his nursery worker mother and caretaker father were ‘good enough for the new one he is now part of.’
They added: ‘Holly comes from a celebrity world, while his parents do not, and his ego and self-importance have grown. He’s no longer the lovely boy next door we all remember.’
The latest fallout was said to be sparked by Holly failing to invite future mother-in-law Caroline to her hen do last week, while Victoria was on the guestlist
The Daily Mail revealed this week that Adam and Holly have banned his mother Caroline Peaty from attending their wedding after an astonishing feud (Adam pictured his with parents)
The Peatys have taken to social media in force to claim they have been overlooked from the couple’s wedding plans because they are ‘simple people on benefits’, who do not fit in with the Ramsays’ polished look (pictured Adam with his mother Caroline)
In the hours after the comments were revealed, Adam’s family reacted to the reports on social media as they accused the person who made them of body shaming
On Monday, it was revealed Adam’s mother Caroline, 59, has been uninvited from attending his Christmas wedding to Holly, 25, as a result of the fallout and he was branded a ‘narcissist’ by his own family over his actions.
In the days since, a briefing battle has ensued which has seen Holly’s famous father Gordon’s PR machine jump into action – with a blizzard of accusations and counter-accusations from each side.
It’s also emerged that in the wake of the rift, Adam’s father Mark didn’t even join his son at his stag do, with future father-in-law Gordon instead taking centre stage during the trip.
Holly was pictured breaking cover on Thursday clutching a ‘Bride’ phone case as she was seen for the first time since thr feud with her fiancé’s family came to light.
The sighting came after the Peatys took to social media in force to claim they have been overlooked from the couple’s wedding plans because they are ‘simple people on benefits’, who do not fit in with the Ramsays’ polished look.
However, a source close to the Ramsays points to ‘wider problems’ in the Peaty family which they say is at the heart of the fallout – and that they are serious.
The insider explains that there have been ‘horrible’ threats of violence against Holly, 25, and Adam, 30, and that police are now involved.
The Olympic swimmer reportedly had to be escorted from his plane by armed police after receiving threats on his stag do.
He is said to have been met by five uniformed police officers who flanked him through immigration and baggage reclaim, after the aircraft touched down at Manchester Airport on Sunday night.
They said CCTV was also monitored by authorities for suspicious activity and Adam was escorted from the building into a waiting vehicle.
The Sun report the police presence came following fears he could be assaulted as shaken Adam initially contacted his fiancée Holly, who then alerted police.
A friend told the publication: ‘The issues that have been reported don’t stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper.
‘Things escalated over the weekend when someone became increasingly abusive and threatening over text. Adam was trying to enjoy his stag do and was getting freaked out by it all.
‘He then received a threat that he’d be met off the plane. He told Holly who called the cops after consulting with her family.’
The friend added that Holly’s parents, chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana have been ‘100 per cent supportive’ of them.
But sources close to the situation told the Daily Mail’s Katie Hind that the accusations from team Ramsay have not reflected favourably upon them.
The insider told Mail+: ‘It all seems rather unedifying for Team Ramsay to come out and throw around accusations about a normal, ordinary family like the Peatys.’ The full exclusive report is available to read here.
The claims of violence come after Adam’s family accused his camp of ‘body-shaming’ his mother Caroline.
They also insisted he isn’t following his Christian beliefs by shunning his family from their wedding celebrations and accused Adam of sending his mother outfit options because they ‘didn’t approve of her choices’.
The tirade of comments from Adam’s side of the family come after a source close to the situation explained why they were no longer invited to the nuptials.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Katie Hind, they said: ‘You only have to look at the picture to see that there is a certain ‘type’, says one person familiar with the party.
‘They all look the same and you wonder if Caroline might have stuck out a bit. She’s a normal woman, not a celebrity. You look at Holly’s Instagram and it’s all so planned, so super-glam and very, very showy. That’s not Caroline.’
More about the jaw-dropping reason Holly and Adam banned his mum from wedding and hen do can be read in Katie Hind’s exclusive Mail+ article here.
In the hours after the comments were revealed, Adam’s family reacted to the reports on social media as they accused the person who made them of body shaming.
Adam’s auntie Louise Williams, wrote: ‘How can Adam and Holly ‘source’ sit there and say Caroline wasn’t invited because of the way my sister looks?
‘She doesn’t suit the look Holly is looking for????! WTF BODY SHAMING A 60 YEAR OLD WOMAN! JESUS CHRIST ON A CRACKER!’
She added: ‘Yes. Adam is a born again Christian. He’s not living by the tenets of Christianity is he? Where is ‘honour thy mother and thy father’ where is the forgiveness?’
Another person close to the situation, Louise McCallum, wrote: ‘He was trying to dress his own mother because they didn’t approve of her outfit choice. The lad has clearly forgotten where he came form. Could do with reading some of those bible passages he spouts.’
The family were accused of ‘airing their dirty laundry’, as one person wrote: ‘You guys are dragging your dirty laundry into the public. Your lack of decorum would be the first indication as to why you’re not invited to the wedding.’
Louise Williams wrote: ‘Decorum? What century are we in?’
The day before, Adam’s aunt Louise had weighed into the feud, and said of her sister: ‘She’s not ok at all. Holly and Adam have broken my darling sister’.
She claimed Adam is ‘ashamed’ of his brothers and then bizarrely shared pictures of Holly at the hen do on her Threads account.
Adam’s family branded him a ‘narcissist’ and claimed he has been ‘changed’ by money and ‘forgotten where he came from’.
A member of the clan told The Sun: ‘We were sent a ‘save the date’ and it’s all these country houses.
‘I’m on Universal Credit — I can’t afford that.
‘Adam has been changed by money, fame and fortune. He seems to have forgotten where he came from.
‘We think he has treated Caroline appallingly. You can hear it in her voice. She’s heartbroken.’
Another source told the publication while his family were originally supportive of his engagement to Holly, they feel ‘they have been pushed further and further from Adam over the past year’.
They said: ‘It seems to some of the family that Adam is more at home with Holly and her folks, while his family has been left behind.
‘Caroline is devoted to her grandson George and will move heaven and earth to care for him.
‘As tensions have risen, there have been rows and Caroline has always toed the line because she wants to be a part of her grandson’s life.’
Shocked family members have spoken out against Adam, with Caroline’s sister saying: ‘he’s said the most vile things a son can say to his mother.’
Adam is said to have had his head turned by Holly’s fame and money – and now feels ashamed of his own working class family who made huge sacrifices and shelled out hundreds for his swimming lessons growing up.
A source close to his family described the gradual breakdown of things with his mother, saying this week: ‘It’s partly because Adam doesn’t feel his family is good enough for the new one he is now part of.’
Adam’s mother was a nursery manager and his father a supermarket caretaker.
Adam and Holly’s ceremony is taking place at Bath Abbey before famous guests head to lavish country estate Kin House.
Kin House is located near the pretty town of Chippenham, a 40-minute drive from the centre of Bath.
The sought-after wedding venue can accommodate 200 guests on site, with 12 bedrooms suitable for up to 24 guests.
The starting price for a full weekend wedding is £32,750, with bespoke menus for different clients. As Adam’s family are based in the East Midlands, trains to Bath would cost approximately £100 for a return ticket.
Given there are only 12 rooms in the country house, it is unlikely all of his immediate family would be able to stay there if they did attend.
Louise threw herself wholeheartedly into the conversation about the feud
She insisted Adam was ’embarrassed’ by his family and his brothers’ mental health problems
Louise claimed she was being threatened with repercussions if she spoke about the situation
Adam’s aunt Louise Williams exposed the heartbreak over her sister being left off the guest list last weekend by hitting out at Holly in a public Instagram post
The Olympian’s mum posted on her Instagram profile: ‘Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can’t explain how broken your heart is’
Caroline also took to Instagram on Monday to share a cryptic image that read: ‘When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it’
The latest fallout was said to be sparked by Holly failing to invite future mother-in-law Caroline to her hen do last week, who stayed at home in Staffordshire, looking after Adam’s five-year-old son George.
Instead, Holly welcomed her own mother Tana, family friend Victoria Beckham and Adam’s sister to her pre-nuptial celebrations at the celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse.
A source close to Adam’s working-class family said the apparent snub happened after the swimmer, who was once close to his mother, had distanced himself from her after being seduced by the fame and glamour of the Ramsays.
His aunt Louise Williams exposed the heartbreak over her sister being left off the hen do guest list last weekend by hitting out at Holly in a public Instagram post which accused her of being ‘divisive and hurtful’.
Louise blasted Holly over the snub to her future mother-in-law who had ‘opened her home and heart to you’, saying it had inflicted ‘a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever’.
Her post stated: ‘@hollyramsayy I’m so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply.
‘A woman who opened her home and heart to you. You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night.
‘You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum’s assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law.
‘I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam. You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.’
The post is said to have deeply upset Holly and world champion swimmer Adam, who are due to get married at Bath Abbey at Christmas.
A source close to the Peaty family revealed that the swimmer had left his mother ‘heartbroken’ after her sister’s post by contacting her to ban her from the wedding and to tell her she would not see his son George or any future grandchildren again.
In another message to his mother, seen by the Daily Mail, Adam stated his intention to disown his family, despite them having supported him throughout his career.
Caroline waded into the incredible row by expressing her distress in an Instagram post which stated: ‘Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can’t explain how broken your heart is.’
Her post attracted messages of support and concern from friends including one who commented: ‘Don’t let them drag you down Caroline.’
The same person added in a further comment: ‘You know considering they are both supposed to be mental health advocates they don’t seem to be showing much regard for yours.’
The remark was a reference to the well-publicised mental health struggles of Holly and world champion Adam who took a competitive break from swimming in 2023 after ‘three years of hell’ which saw him battle depression and alcoholism.
A source told the Daily Mail: ‘Caroline is devastated by the rift and doesn’t know what she has done wrong.
‘Adam’s relationship with his mum and dad Mark are at an all-time low, and now she’s not coming to the wedding,
‘She had been so excited and really wanted to be involved and had offered to make lovely table setting name plates, as she is a skillful craftswoman, but she was told her help wasn’t needed.
‘As time has gone on, things have become strained and there have been rows, the tension has been very fraught. Caroline is in pieces and is absolutely heartbroken that it’s gotten to this point.
‘Caroline and Mark put Adam’s career above everything and supported him through thick and thin so for their relationship to have crumbled is so upsetting.
‘They feel that Adam started to grow distant from his family after he met Holly and they started to become more serious. There is a feeling that money is an issue.
‘His family are working class and proud – it’s a stark contrast to the Ramsay family and some members of the family have said it feels like Adam is ashamed of them.’
The source said it was believed that the only member of Adam’s family now due to attend the wedding is his sister Bethany, with nobody else being able to afford the hotel costs.
Holly and Adam declined to comment when approached by the Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the rift being made public, Caroline took to Instagram to share a cryptic post that read: ‘When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it.’
She captioned the post: ‘The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most.’
Caroline also ‘liked’ a comment from one of her followers who wrote: ‘How awful for you! Hopefully one day he will realise that loving mums should be held in high regard. No woman should try to stop that.’
