Hip-hop legend Kurupt has been hospitalized for weeks due to suffering from unknown health issues.
The 53-year-old music artist – who is also known for being part of the rap duo Tha Dogg Pound – is currently still in the hospital but is on the road to recovery, TMZ reported on Tuesday.
However, sources did not disclose further details of what led the performer to being hospitalized weeks earlier.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Kurupt for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Kurupt – whose full name is Ricardo Emmanuel Brown – was born in Philadelphia but later relocated to Los Angeles when he was a teenager.
His successful music career began in the early 90s and he became a member of the hip-hop duo Tha Dogg Pound with rapper Daz Dillinger under Death Row Records, which is currently owned by Snoop Dogg.

Earlier this week on Monday, Dillinger jumped to his main Instagram page to share a series of snaps with Kurupt and called on fans to send his close pal words of support so he can have a ‘speedy recovery.’
‘GOD SAID WE SHALL LIVE & NOT DIE. Want to send a big shout out to my big brother @offical_kurupt,’ he wrote in the caption.
‘Get well speedy recovery need all FANZ to send kurupt a get well message flood his Instagram tell him how much we love him…’
Dillinger then reflected on fellow music artists that they have ‘lost’ including Nate Dogg.
‘So I need everybody to hit kurupt and let them know that we love HIM from his little brother Daz life is serious shout out to @leelee_calinanita for holding it down, Dogg Pound gangstaZ 4 LIFE GOD 1st.’
Social media users flocked over the comment section of Kurupt’s latest post on Instagram, which was a joint post to tease an upcoming track titled Señorita.
One fan penned, ‘Get well soon Big Kurupt. We love you,’ while another typed, ‘The greatest to ever do itttt get better.’
‘Get well soon Kurupt Young Gotti!!!’ an Instagram user shared, and one added, ‘Get well soon soon. Tha West Coast Loves You.’

Kurupt first signed to Death Row Records back in 1992 – which had originally been founded in 1991 by Dre. Dre, The D.O.C., Suge Knight and Dick Griffey.
The label filed for bankruptcy in 2006 following 2Pac’s death in 1996 and other controversies that followed, such as Knight’s imprisonment.
And then in February 2022, Snoop Dogg bought Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group.
Tha Dogg Pound was a hip-hop duo that was launched in 1992 and featured both Kurupt and Dillinger.
The pair have since dropped nine studio albums together, with their last LP W.A.W.G. (We All We Got) being released in 2024.
Kurupt would go on to leave Death Row Records in 1996 and focused on creating music solo as well.
In 1998, the rapper released Kuruption! and the debut solo studio album jumped to the number eight spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Kurupt has collaborated with a number of other stars over the years including Ty Dolla Sign, DJ Quik, Xzibit, DJ Lethal, Snoop Dogg and Dre. Dre.
He previously discussed working with Dr. Dre during an episode of Drink Champs back in 2020.

Kulture then added, ‘Nowadays, it is some pressure because Dr. Dre, he expects a certain thing from you…’
He also reflected on how their artistry has changed over the years and said they both ‘got a different flavor, different style, different way we’re going about things.’
Kurupt has received one Grammy nomination for the 1995 track What Would You Do which was released under Tha Dogg Pound.
