She's coming clean -  is speaking out after an enthusiastic fan unexpectedly picked her up and swung her around onstage during a stop on her Lucky Me Tour.

The extremely viral moment sparked fierce backlash and led to debate on social media over celebrity boundaries.

The Lizzie McGuire actress, 38, was performing in Dallas, , on Tuesday when she invited fans onstage during her song With Love.

Like many other pop stars, including Zara Larsson, Duff has created a viral moment by having fans join her and participate in her signature choreography.

Fans previously poked fun at Duff's low-energy hair flipping dance moves, but she took it in stride and made it into a cheeky viral moment instead of a regrettable career moment.

One superfan paid homage to Duff's 1998 film debut, when she played Wendy the Good Witch in Casper Meets Wendy, by dressing up as her now-iconic character. The fan joined Duff onstage before shocking the audience when they lifted her and spun her in a circle before setting her back down while the audience cheered.

The So Yesterday singer seemed surprised, and members of her security team moved forward in case they needed to provide assistance.

The Younger actress quickly laughed off the fan interaction following a brief moment of surprise and continued her sold-out performance - but some fans were fuming on her behalf.

The lifelong fan, Karson, later shared a TikTok apologizing for the unexpected embrace and saying, 'I didn't mean to pose a safety risk,' before admitting they 'blacked out' during the 'amazing experience' they waited 'their whole life' for.

Karson said that Duff 'took it in stride' and apologized for stressing 'her security out.'

Luckily, the quickly assuaged Karson's fears by commenting, 'I loved my big swing around hug! Don't think twice!'

Despite Duff's wholehearted blessing, the clip quickly went viral, and thousands of viewers argued about whether the interaction should never have happened in the first place.

One viral X (formerly Twitter) post from user @motherhahnnah read: 'Don't lift people up without consent… especially if you don't know them...'

Another person agreed: 'The way security immediately reacted tells you everything you need to know.'

One X user disagreed with the over-the-top takes, writing, 'oh god ppl can’t embrace or do anything anymore !! humans are meant for connection can we all get tf off our high horses here?'

Another commented, 'The fan apologized, Hilary accepted it, and everyone can move on' - and it certainly seems like she has.
