While shooting the first season of the series, the expert revealed she found a kitchen utensil worth a staggering amount of money.
She said: ‘My favourite thing when it comes to the items themselves is finding something that people didn’t know what they were – or didn’t know what those items could be worth – and telling them the stories of the items.
‘There was a spoon that I found in someone’s house that has been under the stairs cupboard for years and years after being inherited by the family.
‘They never thought it was worth anything. It just happened to be on the side because they had moved a few things around.’
Sharing her excitement at her astonishing find, Irita shared that the spoon was bought by a private collector in California for £3,300, after it received interest from museums in Australia.
She also discovered a painting from the late 1700s which turned out to be made by a world-famous artist.
She said it was ‘all down to gut feeling’ at noticing the jaw-dropping art work.
All the items Irita finds while filming for her programme goes up for sale in her own auction house, which she purchased in 2023.

In 2023, Antiques Road Trip presenters were left gobsmacked when an item sold for 11 times its purchase price at auction during a recent episode.
Irita jumped up and down with joy as the £20 vintage London Bus sign sold for an ‘amazing’ profit.
As their money pots had rolled over from the previous episode, Irita started the show with £570.80 while Mark fell behind with £114.78.
But Mark’s luck soon changed when he stumbled upon the item that went on to make a huge profit.
The signs only cost Mark £20 each, happy with his find he took them to the W&H Peacock Auction Centre to see how they would fare.
Auctioneer Lindsay Taylor said: ‘We have got tons of bids on commission. I’m going to have to start at £140.’
When the auction came to an end at £240, a delighted Mark said: ‘Thank you. A good buy, I think.’
The Derbyshire Auction House airs on Mondays at 9pm on Really channel.
