Heidi Range has weighed in on the ‘rift’ with her ex-bandmates as she addressed a return to the girl group ahead of a new BBC documentary.
The singer, 42, joined the iconic 90s pop group Sugababes in 2001 after Siobhán Donaghy left.
She was part of the lineup that released some of the group’s biggest hits, including ‘Freak like Me’ and ‘Round Round’.
Heidi remained in the group with Amelle Berrabah, and Jade Ewen until their 2011 hiatus.
Following her departure, the original members – Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan – reformed and later won a legal battle to reclaim the Sugababes name in 2019.
Now, more than a decade later, Heidi has taken part in the BBC’s Girlbands Forever, which explores the inside story from stars who were in a girl group from the 1990s to the 2010s.

Speaking in a new interview about the upcoming documentary, the star weighed in on the ‘rift’ with her former bandmates.
She told Attitude: ‘I didn’t chat to the other girls beforehand, but I did speak to Amelle afterwards to see how it had gone for her.’
Despite the lack of contact from her ex-bandmates, she revealed that she is not fully against the idea of going back in the group.
Heidi said: ‘I’d never say never. There’s nothing in the pipeline at the moment, but who knows?’
It comes just days after Amelle revealed plans to lift the lid on her time in the Sugababes – years after being excluded from the group’s reunion.
The singer, 41, replaced Mutya Buena in 2005 and remained in the group until their 2011 hiatus.
Now, Amelle is speaking out, promising to reveal the untold stories that have happened during her time in the band and after.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, she announced that she is set to spill ‘secrets’ in the explosive new BBC documentary.

Alongside a snap of her in the documentary, which lands on the box on November 1, she wrote: ‘Had such a wonderful time chatting all things girlbands for the BBC show ‘Girlbands Forever’.
‘It brought back so many amazing memories — from my time in the Sugababes to the incredible era of pop that shaped so many of us.
‘So grateful to have been part of it all, and to share a few laughs (and maybe a few secrets ) along the way!
‘Sending love to all the girlbands who paved the way and to all the music lovers who still keep the music alive!
‘Girlbands Forever promises a nostalgic trip through that time in pop music history.’
The singer stood in for Lizzie Cundy on FUBAR Radio in 2019, and also offered an insight into her infamous feud with former band mate Keisha Buchman, which resulted in her being kicked out of the group.
Speaking on the split, she said: ‘It did get a little messy because it wasn’t left on the best of terms. It wasn’t left on ‘Oh I am ready to leave now..’
Amelle added: ‘I’m just sorry that Jade didn’t get to experience a longer period, she was just getting into it.’
Detailing her relationship with Keisha, who gave music bosses an ultimatum between her and Amelle, she said that they are now finally on civil terms eight years later.
She said: ‘If I saw her, I’d be like ‘How you doing?’, blah blah blah… But sometimes when things happen, you can’t 100% put them back together again.
‘It’s similar, it’s just not the same.’
Amelle said that she met up with Keisha around 18 months ago where they discussed their past spat and both admitted to their own faults in the disagreement.
She said: ‘We brought up some old times and were like you know.. ‘My bad..’
Confirming who she meant, she said: ‘Both. Yeah, I’d say both [of us]. There were a couple of things which she brought up and I thought ‘Yeah, I really appreciate you saying that. It takes some guts. But yeah, we’ve not really kept in contact.’
Keisha sued the group over their use of their band name, but Amelle confirmed that they still own the rights to use the name.
She said: ‘She [Keisha] doesn’t have the name. We have it still.
‘Because we did well in Europe as well, they keep coming back, that they want us to reform and do one last tour. So we’ve been discussing that.’
‘So yeah there have been talks about it. When anything happens, we will say it.
